    Good afternoon,
Can someone explain to me how the sorting by latest in the frontend works, when you want to sort the products grid by date?
I thought it sorted by creation date of the products (the newest first ofcourse), but it doesn’t do that.

    Kind regards,
    Nancy

    Hello, @Nancy,

In WordPress WooCommerce, the XStore “Sort Latest Product” option on the product grid allows you to display products in descending order based on their Product creation date. This means that the newest products will appear first on the grid, providing a way to showcase the latest additions to your store.

We created a test product on your site and checked the sorting in functioning properly.

Hello Tony! Thank you for your time!

If you look at (for example):
    https://www.bakgoed.nl/product-categorie/categorieen/zelf-taart-maken/vullingen-zelf-taart-maken/bavaroise-poeder/?orderby=date

    And:
    https://www.bakgoed.nl/nieuw/

You can see the tiramisu being new, the newest of the category bavaroise-poeder (it’s a filling), but when you look at the filling category, it’s not in the beginning of the page.

    Hello, @Nancy,

We hope this message finds you well.

We are writing to inform you that in response to the issue you reported, we have created a new test product on your website. We have assigned the appropriate categories to this product, updated its details, and set the price accordingly. Upon reviewing the product categories, we have confirmed that the filters are functioning as expected.

For your convenience, we have provided visual references below:

    https://imgur.com/a/GVCRraT
    https://imgur.com/a/eZtfFRP

However, we have noticed that when we duplicate the product and apply settings associated with third-party plugin configurations, the product does not appear at the top of the category listing.

To address this issue, we kindly request that you temporarily disable all third-party plugins on your website, with the exception of those that are Theme Required/Recommended, as detailed here: [https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/plugins/included-plugins/](https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/plugins/included-plugins/). After doing so, please clear your browser cache and check your site again. This step is to determine if there is a conflict caused by any additional third-party plugins.

Should this resolve the issue, you will then need to reactivate each third-party plugin individually to identify which one is causing the conflict. Once identified, we recommend contacting the Plugin Author for further assistance.

If the problem persists, please keep all third-party plugins deactivated and grant us permission to conduct a thorough investigation on your site. This may include deactivating all third-party plugins and any on-site customizations.

Please note: It is imperative that you create a complete backup of your website before proceeding with the aforementioned steps, as they may impact your site’s functionality.

We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to resolving this matter promptly.

    Yours sincerely,
    The 8Themes Team.

I will make a local copy of the site and test your theories 😉 perhaps I will put a copy on our staging server for you to test on if I don’t solve it myself.

Solved it, it was a piece of code in my functions.php, made to put the out of stock products at the end of the list. Now I will have to find another solution for this. Thank you for your suggestions!
