Hi,
My website is up and running, but I notice that search engines are listing items twice like below;
http://www.example.com/iphones/iphone-4/
And also;
http://www.example.com/iphone-4/
I’m hoping that google don’t treat this as duplicate content?
I have a plugin that removes the horrible product and product-category slugs from the URL.
My question is this
1) can I remove the categories and just have the products, I will add the individual products to newly created pages. This should prevent duplication of the product urls with category name and product.
2) instead of having categories as the sidebar on the shop page can I have my newly created pages listed on that sidebar widget?
thanks in advance
Hello,
1. This is Woocommerce configuration and you should refer to them:
http://docs.woothemes.com/document/removing-product-product-category-or-shop-from-the-urls/
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-woocommerce-excelling-ecommerce-remove-product-category-and-product-slugs-from-the-url
2. You can add “Pages” widget into “Shop Sidebar” area in Appearance > Widgets.

Eva Kemp.
You misunderstood Eva.
I already have a plugin that changes the url from product and product-category to my own category title.
It was more about adding pages rather than categories to the shop sidebar like it currently does with the categories for products.
But I recently got told google like to see categories.
Thanks

can we keep this open for now but I will come back to you.
If you could answer my question on adding an image to the 404 error page Eva that would be awesome!

Need to cut down on the css / js requests for speed
Hello,
We’ll keep this topic open.
Unfortunately you have to find the plugin yourself as we can’t guarantee full compatibility of all 3rd-party plugins.
Please take our apologies.
Thank you.

Eva Kemp.
Sure thing Eva
