How to add search content to the "Search for products"

Good day,

I want to modify the search box to be able to search by the sku number, is that possible if so please explain how.

What fields does the search currently look in? Example Product title?

Hello,

Search process works with products titles.
If you want to have search by SKU number you can try to use some plugins.
