How to install child theme – without using a demo site

In the installation guide for the theme it shows that you can install the child theme only in the demo website flow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7STFGZapx8

But what can I do if I do not want a demo site and build the website from zero?

How can I install the child theme without demo site option?

Do I have to do something with this?

Where should I put it?

Whe I imported the demo site I choosed to install the Child Theme.

I just checked and the Child Theme is not installed https://prnt.sc/W-7DExFIUq13

If I install it now, will the custom edits remain or I will lose everything created until now?
