How to remove (or fix) the red rollover effect on images for IE11

    i have noticed that when someone uses Internet explorer 11 on windows 7, the rollover effect of the featured images in the blog and on the article slider in home (that pops up VIEW LARGE and MORE DETAILS) somehow doesnt work properly. somehow, they all just show with the red overlay instead of the rollover animation. please see this link where we took a picture of the result:

    do you know why this is happening? i have tested this from 2 independent machines and both seem to have the same problem.

    in case there is no solution, is it possible to remove the rollover feature, or is there an alternative that can be used?
