How to update Royal theme and plugins with WPv4.2.1

Hi
Please give me a DETAILED step by step way to update everything
The problem I have is that after updating to wp4.2.1 and updating all plugins to what you currently have on the 8theme website, the visual composer DOES NOT let me save IE the save button wont work so no changes can be made to the website.

Please, contact administrator
for this information.

honestly this is what i did, I saw this video before, what I ended up doing is revert in to the older version backup.
