https://classicgrand.com/ has an issue. The person from the venue adding events, via Tickera, which uses the posts taxonomy, has been adding them (as the previous person was trained face to face and told how to) but she has replaced them and had no info passed on so has guessed what to do, uploaded PDFs (they are an events company so get promo artwork of varying formats so she created in, I guess, Canva, standard size/format PDFs which it seems when added to WordPress get auto converted to jpgs (Who knew!?) But, after some considerable time, I went into the site and ran updates, as nobody, despite instruction, had, and now any image added for an event is cropped to square. I am guessing an update issue as have seen similar on a few other sites. Any ideas what to do? I have added Shortpixel to compensate for the massive images uploaded as Event featured images but as I have seen the post featured image size get broken elsewhere on other sites we use XStore on, was wondering if this could be solved!?

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We understand the issue you’re experiencing with the event images on your website, and we’re here to assist you. Based on the details provided, it seems that the cropping of event images to a square format may be related to a recent update or configuration change within your WordPress setup.
Since the events are being added via Tickera, check the plugin’s settings to see if there are any specific configurations for image handling or display.
We would recommend you contact support of the Tickera plugin and WordPress.

    Best Regards,
    8Theme’s Team

Hi Tickera uses the post featured image size as per blogs. We have it on many sites and since recent updates, of XStore, many images for Tickera and also blog posts are showing at different crop ratios, some quite random! Tickera has no image settings. See also https://thelimes.online/art-school-the-limes/artists-workshops/ and https://horseridingcentre.co.uk/events/ and for blog posts (and I did put a ticket in for this earlier this year but got no response) https://feeldesign.co.uk/category/news/ all using XStore, which has been fine for blog posts etc for years till around summertime this year. I spoved using a custom post grid on our site, but that won’t work for Tickera so we need a sizing solution for featured images as it is totally ignoring some cropping, and then cropping others!!!!

    Dear @feeldesign,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We understand that you believe the issue you are experiencing began after recent updates to the XStore theme. However, upon reviewing the website you shared, we noticed that it is currently running version 9.1.13 of our theme (https://prnt.sc/-6eWwQv-Yx2P), which was released on August 10, 2023. (Please refer to this screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/ycm-YY1i4bwL).

Given this information, it appears that the issue may not be directly related to the XStore theme. Instead, it could be associated with one of the plugins installed on your website. For instance, we noticed that the ShortPixel plugin, which modifies images, is active on your site. It’s possible that certain settings within this plugin, or changes made by one of your site managers, could be contributing to the issue.

We kindly request that you check with your site managers to confirm if any recent changes were made to image-related settings. Additionally, we would like to remind you that the version of the XStore theme currently installed on your site is slightly outdated. Updating to the latest version may help address any compatibility concerns.

Lastly, we recommend reaching out to your hosting provider to verify if there are any server configurations in place that might automatically crop images.

Please let us know if you need further assistance or clarification. We are here to help.

    Best regards,

    Hi
As I said, all was fine till we ran updates, it has been working fine, but, like other sites, as I said, once updated, blog post images, and event ones, randomly resize. The theme was up to date, but there wil have been more updates since, it worked when it was considerably out of date, but we only have 2 weeks backups, so can’t restore. I added Shortpixel after the issue to see if that could solve it, but it could not.
Even with the latest version of the plugin, images are showing as different sizes. See screen shot with this comment, and, on another site https://feeldesign.co.uk/category/news/

There is clearly an issue with the 2024 version of the theme as we have used this theme for years with no issues on many sites. There is nothing on the server that resizes or crops images etc. Can someone PLEASE look into this?!

Thanks, I think they sometimes get brute force attacks, their site was badly hacked before we took over 3 years ago, although all has been fine since. FPT in private area
