Images of variation not showing - by harry

Just installed XSTORE in a clean WooCommerce site. Next added 1 product with 3 variations. Added product and gallery images for each variation. Set first variation as default. Added a product image for the parent product.

Now if you select the product on a shop or category page then the product page loads with the variations images shown half a second and next the images are replaced with the images of the main product. Did I miss a setting?

Hello,

Try to disable all the third-party plugins (including cache plugins), that do not come bundled with XStore https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/plugins/included-plugins/ , clear cache of your browser, and check how it works then.
Provide URL and temporary wp-admin access, so we can take a closer look.

Hi Rose, I disabled all plugins and switched off the redis object caching. Next cleared my firefox browser. The problem is not solved.

Hi Rose,

No, the “Newborn Happy colors (Copy)” product appears to be one but is not because the parent product has the same images as the default variation.

I set up a test product with bright colored images and labels like “parent product image” and “variation product image”. If you go to this url: https://xkroost.eu.mywoocart.com/product-categorie/variantion-test/

You can see what happens. Most times it goes well the first click but all other clicks on the product on the shop page go wrong.

The setup of the “Variation test product” is:
1. the “Variation test product” has 2 variations: blue and green
2. the parent product “Variation test product” has a red product image and 2 red gallery images
3. the blue variation has a blue product image and 2 blue gallery images
4. the green variation has a green product image and 2 green gallery images
5. the blue variation is set as default for the “default from values” setting on variations tab
6. on the category page https://xkroost.eu.mywoocart.com/product-categorie/variantion-test/ the “Variation test product” is shown with 2 colored dots: blue and green (no red because it is the parent product and no variation)

Scenario 1:
1. goto test category page: https://xkroost.eu.mywoocart.com/product-categorie/variantion-test/
2. you see the blue variant product image (oke, because it is set as default)
3. click the product to go to the product page
4. product page loads
5. first only the red parent product image is shown (not oke)
6. next the blue variant images are shown (oke)
7. next the red parent product images are shown (not oke, this are the parent product images which should never be shown)
8. go back to category page “test”
9. do it again

Scenario 2:
1. goto test category page: https://xkroost.eu.mywoocart.com/product-categorie/variantion-test/
2. you see the blue variant product image (oke, because it is set as default)
3. select the green variant by clicking on the green dot
4. the image changes to the green variation product image (oke)
5. click the product to go to the product page
6. product page loads
7. first only the red parent product image is shown (not oke)
6. next the blue variant images are shown (because it is the default, but is not oke, green is expected)
7. next the red parent product images are shown (not oke, this are the parent product images which should never be shown)
8. go back to category page “test”
9. do it again

Scenario 3:
1. got to the product page of the “Variation test product”
2. click the green dot
3. the the green variant images are shown (oke)
4. click the blue dot
5. the the blue variant images are shown (oke)
6. click the blue dot
7. the the red parent product images are shown (oke, no variation selection is made)

As I understand it now, the issue is that (1) if you navigate, by clicking the product, from the category page to the product page that (2) the images of the parent product are shown even when (3) the default variation is set or (4) another variation is selected on the category page. A customer will not understand this behavior and will be very confused.

(I don’t know how i can send you screenshots of my product setting etc. or a video of the scenarios. Otherwise i would send them to you.)

Can you test it too and i hope you have a solution!
