Hello, I’ve encountered several issues related to permalink settings, archive pages, localization, and a specific component from an imported XStore template that I need help resolving. Below are the details:

    1. Conflict Between Archive Pages and Permalink Settings: I’m unsure whether the conflict is between the product archive page and the post archive page or between regular pages and post categories. When configuring permalinks, I’ve noticed that leaving the “Category base” field under Settings > Permalinks > Optional empty allows the product archive page to display correctly, but all post category pages return a 404 error. On the other hand, setting the “Category base” to %category% allows post categories to display correctly but causes all regular pages to return a 404 error.

Additionally, I’ve set up an archive page using Elementor’s theme builder, with display conditions set to “Posts Archive, Categories.” I also tried setting it to “All Archives,” but this didn’t resolve the issue. Could this setup itself be problematic? How should I properly configure the permalink and archive settings to resolve these conflicts? Also, could you provide a general permalink template that is SEO-friendly?

    2. Setting Up Website Localization: I want to provide visitors with the option to choose their country and language for a more localized browsing experience. For example, based on the visitor’s IP, they should be automatically redirected to the appropriate regional site, such as siteaddress/en-de or siteaddress/jp, with language, page content, and pricing adjusted accordingly. How can I set this up?

    3. Implementing Localization and Translation for Global Visitors: Building on the localization issue from question 2, how can I implement page translations so that users from non-localized regions can still view the site in their preferred language? This feature would help them navigate the site and view prices, supporting global sales. What steps should I take to achieve this?

    4. Editing and Modifying a Portfolio Component from XStore Template: I initially imported a website template from XStore that includes a portfolio page with a component I really like. This component allows for the display of post archives with a row of post categories above. When “All” is selected, all posts are displayed below, and selecting another category filters the posts accordingly without needing to reload the page. Additionally, this category filter does not display the “Uncategorized” group, which other filter components tend to show. My current issue is that I’m unable to edit this page or modify this component using Elementor. How can I edit this page or add this component to other pages?

I appreciate your assistance in resolving these issues and look forward to your guidance on configuring these settings and components effectively. Thank you!

    Dear @Dylan,

I hope this message finds you well. We have a few requests and updates that we would like to bring to your attention:

    1. Could you kindly deactivate our current theme and conduct tests using the default Hello Elementor theme or Storefront? If the issue persists, it would indicate that the problem is not related to our theme but rather to the Elementor plugin. In such a case, we recommend reaching out to the Elementor plugin support team for further assistance.

    2. The functionality you mentioned is not available within our theme. We suggest exploring plugins that offer such features. You might consider contacting one of our partners at https://prnt.sc/e0c3RsvetEqj, who may be able to provide a suitable solution or recommend their own plugins for your needs.

    3. For the issue you are addressing, please refer to the documentation of the chosen plugin. If you are looking for a plugin that supports multilingual capabilities, WPML is a recommended option. For more detailed guidance, you can visit our documentation on https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-translation/translation-with-wpml/.

    4. We are excited to announce that we will soon release an update that included new Elementor widgets for Portfolio projects. You can preview these at https://prnt.sc/fHAd6EnPh-z_. If you are interested in being one of the first to test these and many other new features, we would be delighted to provide you with an archive for testing. Your feedback would be invaluable to us. We would recommend you to make a staging web-site for such tests as the archive is not stable and may contains some issues or bugs.

Thank you for your attention to these matters. We look forward to your response and appreciate your continued support.

    Best Regards,
    Jack Richardson
    The 8Theme Team
