Hello!
Translation
After the new theme update, most of the previously correctly translated phrases have reverted to their initial import state. I’m using the Loco Translate plugin, and after reviewing previous forum topics, I checked the translation names and everything seems to be set up correctly. Could you point me in the right direction regarding what might be causing the error? (e.g., in the shop breadcrumbs or return to previous page)
Shop Category Widget
Is it possible to set up your category widget to display subcategories like the standard WooCommerce widget does? Your widget looks much better and has category search options, which can’t be found in the regular WooCommerce widget.
Category Description
I would like to have a short category description appear at the top, with a longer category description at the bottom – so as not to overwhelm potential customers. Is it possible to display the category description by changing something in the options, or does special code need to be created in functions.php to achieve this display?
Hello, Adrian,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
1/ We’ve regenerated .pot files for you and synchronized translations.
2/ Please check the result.
3/ Add descriptions – https://prnt.sc/rFYD2aVMZTWz , then go to XStore Builders > Archive Products via Elementor > edit template > add next elements https://prnt.sc/g77EhdqCK0y9 to page content.
Additionally, for any separate questions, we kindly ask that you open new topics in our support forum: https://www.8theme.com/forums/xstore-wordpress-support-forum/

Thank you very much for the help with points 1 and 3!
1/ Will I have to do this for every theme update? Or is this just some kind of bug?
2/ I didn’t quite mean what I was writing in point 2 about categories. What I’m specifically interested in is your category widget. Is there any way to achieve that effect in the “Filter products by categories by Xstore”? I’m sending some pictures that should help. At the top is your widget and each category appears under the other without any indication that it’s a subcategory of a given category (as is visible in the WooCommerce filter).
Hello, Adrian,
You’re welcome!
1/ After every update, you need to synchronize translation – https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-translation/translation-files-update/ Sometimes new strings are added, and only after synchronization, you’ll be able to translate new strings or strings that were changed. Not always, but some strings can be missing after the sync and you need to find and translate them one more time, this is independent of us and relates to WP functionality.
2/ There is no such option, unfortunately.
If you would like to request the addition of new features or options, we kindly invite you to submit your suggestion on our Taskboard at the following link: https://www.8theme.com/taskboard/. Should your request receive sufficient support from other customers, our development team will carefully consider including it in one of our future updates.
Best Regards,
