Hi
I recently upgraded to the latest WordPress, updated all the plugins and uploaded a new Legenda theme. Since doing so, I’m having the following issues:
1/ I get a message to say my Child theme has out of date Woocommerce files
2/ My menu bar is appearing twice and I’m unable to change the menu in the Appearances settings
3/ My WooCommerce add to cart etc isn’t working properly. At times I get a message saying ‘error with ajax’ and now the ‘add to cart’ button isn’t appearing in the checkout page
4/ The website is very slow and I think it’s the slider causing some issues
5/ The Visual Composer is out of date but says it’s unknown if it’s compatible
Please can somebody assist with this?
Thanks
Hello,
1. Please note that was big woocommerce update, so many elements in the plugin and our theme functionality were changed. So you may need to edit your changes in the child theme to proper work with new versions.
2-3. Could you please provide wp-admin access in Private Content?
4-5. Please update all required plugins https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/.
To update premium plugins, connect to your server using FTP. Copy extracted plugins folders into wp-content/plugins/

Rose Tyler.
Hi
Thanks for getting back to me. I have just updated the plugins you suggested but the issues still look the same.
I’m unsure how to update the child theme to allow the changes for WooCommerce, not sure I’m technical enough for it!
I will add the FTP and WordPress log in details via the Private Content section below.
The menus are still not working as they should and it says WooCommerce now has an update available but dont know if I should update this too?
Please advise.
I really need to get this all working as soon as possible. Your help is much appreciated!
Many thanks
Kathy
Hi
Can anybody help with this?
Thanks
Kathy
Hello,
2. If you have a lot of menu items and can’t save changes then you need to increase PHP Max Input Vars. By default it is 1000, try to set 5000 or 8000 for example http://sevenspark.com/wordpress/menu-item-limit
Also, contact your hosting provider support and ask them to increase the following PHP settings:
– post_max_size to 64M;
– upload_max_filesize to 64M.
3. Seems this problem related to your changes in the child theme. Please check it with parent theme.
Also, your parent theme also contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files https://prnt.sc/fhbihl, so I recommend export theme settings in Theme Options > Import/Export > Import or Export your theme configuration > Export Options, then activate some default theme, rename legenda folder via FTP and upload new theme archive in wp-admin > themes or theme folder via FTP (without overwriting), and import your theme options (please make it after increasing PHP settings).
If something goes wrong you can simply delete new theme upload and revert back name of your current theme.
Also, don’t forget to create backup of your files and database before any update.
You need check all the changes you’ve made in the child theme. Sorry, but we can’t know what exactly you modified there and such changes are outside the scope of our support.
If you need help with customization WPKraken team will help you, just submit a request.
Yes, you can update WC to 3.0.8 v.

Hi
Thanks for your response. My hosting provider have upped the php Max Input vars although they said the maximum is 2500, will this be enough?
I will try to update the newest WooCommerce and reload the theme as you suggested.
I haven’t changed the child theme, in fact I don’t think I used to have one, I think the new update created on, is that possible? I can’t remember.
I’m really not technical enough for some of this, so your help with this is much appreciated.
Thanks
Hi
Ok I’m getting somewhere, hooray! I updated the theme again and the WooCommerce files seem to have sorted themselves out after I updated to the latest version – hooray!
Now from what I can gather, my main issue is the menu which is showing up double… I still change amend the menu and even when i create a new menu it’s showing up double/duplicated.
Currently the parent theme is active, am I best to activate the child theme instead?
If you could help with this that would be great.
Many thanks
Kathy
Hi, any suggestions for the menu? I still can’t change it and even when I create a new menu, it’s still showing up as duplicated. It’s showing the description for some reason, but it’s not giving an option to delete the description anywhere…
please advise as I think/HOPE this is the last remaining snag!
Thanks
Kathy
Hello,
I’m glad that you sorted out.
Is menu issue solved? https://prnt.sc/fher3y

Hi
I’ve had to delete the ‘description’ of each category – don’t know why it started showing. Shame as it’s better for SEO etc but anyway. I’m also putting the dropdowns in a mega menu so it’s easier to see and navigate..
I hope all is now working – will need to double check orders coming.
Do you have any suggestions to speed the website up? I’ve installed WP Optimise and WP 3 Cache.. but it’s still a bit slow..
Thanks for your help!
Hi
I’ve created a new menu with the mega menus but it’s not letting me add all the products. It froze and now it says ‘cakestands’ in there which isnt going away despite me deleting it from the menu. The menu is now stuck/broken again like the original one was.. 🙁
Is this due to the PHP Max Input Vars only being 2500?
Thanks
Kathy
Hello,
Due to GTmetrix result https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.interiorflair.co.uk/TUIF0lEy , please follow the suggestions from these articles:

Also you can use some additional plugins for compression, image optimization (WP Smush etc.) and Javascript / CSS Minifiers. These can optimize and speed up your website.
Yes, you need to set 5000 or even 10000. Also, you may try to clear Object Cache in your cache plugin settings.
