I am trying to display Linked variation on Single Product Page.
I’ve added the attribute “Chain Length” with 2 variations (18 inches and 22 inches) to each of the 2 products:
14KT YELLOW GOLD ANCHOR 4.2MM 18 INCHES
14KT YELLOW GOLD ANCHOR 4.2MM 22 INCHES
Then when I go to “Xstore Linked Variations” to add a new group, I select the same 2 products to add to the “Products” field.
For “Attributes” — I select “chain-length”
For “Attribute for the product image” — I’m not exactly sure what to select here, so the only option was “chain-length”
Then I clicked Update. The group is seemingly saved, but it doesn’t. Suddenly the “Attributes” and “Attribute for the product image” fields are empty. I select “chain-length” again, but it’s cleared again immediately after clicking Update.
I also check the product pages in the shop, but I don’t see any changes or any linked variations.
Yes, I have read the support article “Linked Variations Products – Link Separate Products Together by Size, Color, and More.” I did not install any other 3rd party “Linked Variations” plugin, in case you’re wondering about plugin conflicts.

I have applied all the updates through the Patcher, but no change. I also tried deleting the Linked Variation group. Created a new one from scratch.
After clicking Update, the “Attributes” and “Attribute for the product image” fields are empty again.

Thank you for continuing to work on this issue.
Just a side note — today, when I logged in, I noticed that the Patcher had 6 more patches that needed to be applied. Again! These were the SAME patches I already applied a couple of days ago.
So you may want to double check if the patches were REALLY applied … maybe somehow the Xstore Patcher says patches were applied, but nothing happened on the server.
Hello, Tom,
We are pleased to inform you that we have successfully resolved the issue with the linked variations and the patcher. The modifications have been implemented in the following files:
– xstore/framework/custom-metaboxes.php
– xstore/framework/features/woocommerce/linked-variations.php
Please note that these fixes will be included in the upcoming update.
Best regards,
The 8Theme Team
Sadly, your modifications did not solve the issue. Yes, I can now successfully save the XStore Linked Variations group, BUT it causes the products to generate an error.
If you view the 2 products below in the shop, they should be linked. But now the page is dead after adding the XStore Linked Variations group: “There has been a critical error on this website”
14KT YELLOW GOLD ANCHOR 4.2MM 18 INCHES
14KT YELLOW GOLD ANCHOR 4.2MM 22 INCHES
Please reference the “14KT YELLOW GOLD ANCHOR 4.2MM” Linked Variations group that I created for those 2 products to ensure I have them set correctly. Did I set “Attribute for the product image” correctly? Or should it be set to something else?
See attached screenshot.
Hello, Tom,
We hope this message finds you well. We are pleased to inform you that the error has been successfully corrected. We kindly ask you to verify the resolution at your earliest convenience.

It ALMOST works now.
1) Linked Variation product icons disappear when viewing an item that is Out of Stock. See attached.
2) Can you add a label to the linked variation icon? I see icons, but unless the user hovers over each and everyone slowly, they cannot know what each icon represents. For example, if I have 5 variations, I need to hover my mouse over each icon to know it is 12 inch, then 18 inch, then 22 inch. Is it possible to label it so I can see quickly all the link variation lengths? See attached.
3) Can you please explain what additional fixes did you do today that resolved the new “There has been a critical error on this website” error?
Did you add some additional code fix that is in some other file that’s NOT in:
– xstore/framework/custom-metaboxes.php
– xstore/framework/features/woocommerce/linked-variations.php
attachment for 2) above.
Hello, Tom,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of recent updates and modifications we have implemented:
1) We have corrected an error, and changes have been made to the following files:
– xstore/framework/features/woocommerce/linked-variations.php
– et-core-plugin/app/controllers/elementor/theme-builder/woocommerce/single-product/add-to-cart.php
Additionally, these changes will be included in the upcoming updates.
2) It is possible to achieve this through a minor modification, however, please note that the appearance of such variations will be specific. We encourage you to review the attached files for more details.
3) The issue was caused by an attribute name consisting of two words separated by a space. This problem has now been resolved, and similar names will no longer cause errors.
Thank you for your attention to these updates. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best Regards,
8Theme’s Team
