Main shop page don’t display categories.

    The shop page shows only products, but does not show categories at all

    On category pages, subcategories are displayed, but somehow very strange.

    To grant WP-Admin access, please proceed to create a new user account with an administrator role through your WordPress Dashboard. Once the account is established, you may securely transmit the username and password to us via the Private Content section designated for this purpose.

    I hope this message finds you well. We are currently addressing a technical issue and require your assistance to determine its source. To proceed with our investigation, we need to know if you have already tested the issue using a default theme, such as Storefront. Given that your website is live, we understand the importance of maintaining its stability and would prefer not to switch themes without your consent.

    Should you permit us to change the theme temporarily for testing purposes, please let us know at your earliest convenience. Additionally, it would be immensely helpful if you could provide us with the correct FTP access credentials in a secure manner. This access will enable us to rename a few files temporarily, allowing us to test the issue with the default WooCommerce files rather than those modified by our XStore theme.

    If you have the staging web-site it would be perfect to recreate the isue there so we won’t make any changes on live one.

    Please note, if the issue persists even with the default theme, it suggests that the problem may not be related to our XStore theme but could be associated with WooCommerce or other plugins.

    We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to your prompt feedback.

    I have updated the theme and core to x.3.17
    I also did a backup.

    Hello @IT-Spectrum

    Unfortunately we expecting issues trying to connect to the FTP with the access provided. Could you please, check if it works for you and provide the correct one?
    For now we have next errors in FTP console:

    Answer: 530 Login authentication failed
    Error: Fatal error: Unable to connect to server

    Dear @IT-Spectrum,

    Thank you for providing us with the correct FTP access. We have renamed several primary folders that modify our theme and override the WooCommerce default settings. However, we have encountered an issue with the display of product categories on your shop that appears to be related to the WooCommerce plugin.

    To further investigate this issue, we intended to activate the default Storefront theme and maintain only the WooCommerce and Elementor plugins active, while deactivating all others. Unfortunately, we do not have the necessary permissions to install another theme, as indicated here: https://prnt.sc/edZg5EVzTcVa.

    Could you please conduct a test on your end? We kindly ask you to install the Storefront theme and deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and Elementor. If the product categories are displayed correctly on your shop page, you may then reactivate the previously active plugins and check again. Should the product categories still be displayed correctly, please switch back to the XStore child theme and verify if the issue persists.

    If the problem is isolated to our theme, we will continue to investigate the cause and seek a resolution.

    We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to your prompt response.

    I checked. Categories appear if you deactivate XStore Core, but at the same time they appear completely all – as the top level, there and all subcategories of all levels. The same effect happens if you just change the theme.

    I noticed – in subcategories it shows absolutely all categories of all levels too

    Hi.
    Yes this toggle enabled the categories and they are displayed. In my opinion – this is a strange behavior, because when this feature is enabled only categories without products and subcategories should be hidden. In this case, the top level categories do not contain products, but are parent to subcategories and should be displayed. Ok, let’s assume that my issue is solved for the moment, and the behavior of the switch should be considered for future updates.

    Okay. The categories are displayed, but why are they showing in the catalog along with the products in a row. Categories should be separate and products should be separate.
