Mobile Menu really slow when clicking categories

I’m having a lot of issues with the mobile site, when I click a category from the menu it takes ages to load. Can you please recommend a fix, everything is optimised etc as much as it can be? and using CDN for quick server response.

Please go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs > the latest fatal error file. As we can see, seo-by-rank-math plugin causes errors. Please contact support of the plugin to solve this or disable this plugin and check how the site works then.

Hi, I have been in contact with rank math and done a fix for the error. You will see the mobile menu still loads extremely slowly when trying to click a category. This is definitely a theme issue. Please fix asap

My website is still loading extremely slowly, there are no other issues are anything affecting this so it is most certainly the theme. can you please access the site and look into this. currently the site is in no fit functioning state. thank you.

I hope this message finds you well. We have encountered intermittent issues when attempting to access the category page on our website, specifically a “502 Bad Gateway” error, which indicates a server error.

Regarding the loading of category pages, we have determined that the problem is not related to mobile devices but rather to the category pages themselves. We have conducted tests on the loading speed of this page using the default theme, which resulted in a load time of 12.26 seconds. In comparison, with our theme, the load time varies between 6.0 seconds and 15.14 seconds.

As you can see, the difference in load times between our theme and the default theme is not significantly large. The primary reason for the slow performance of the category pages appears to be the prolonged response time from the server, which could be due to the server itself or external plugins.

The server I have is extremely good. Also running off CDN

Could you please advise any plugins you have come across previously which has be caused slowness with your theme?

After a lot of reading I can see slowness with your theme is a major issue in general

I hope this message finds you well. We have observed that pages are only cached after they have been loaded at least once. Could you please attempt to revisit all categories without logging in? This is because the caching and CDN functionalities do not operate for administrators.

Subsequently, kindly check the page loading speed both as a logged-out user and as a logged-in client.

Hi, I can confirm I am looking at it whilst logged out, I open it in a different browser, completely logged out, and still extremely slow. I also have staff who have never visited the site before and have checked, they are also experiencing extreme slowness.

I have received a response from the hosting:

I checked the server and it is not under heavy load. If there are issues with slower response time, then they are related to the website performance itself, the server is working as expected.

Please can I receive an update for this ticket. Hosting have checked over everything and everything is spot on at there end.

if there is a plugin causing conflicts are you able to see what? I’ve created a staging site, removed all plugins, and still experiencing huge slowness with the theme.

I’m also getting function php fatal errors, which also comes down the theme functionality. I have pasted below the error, please can you look at everything:

I’m getting so fed up of this theme now! I’ve worked with so many in the past, and only use plugins I trust, and I never have issues with any of the plugins I use on other themes. I need this fixing, but I certainly won’t be using this theme again

It appears that the server may be running PHP as FastCGI Process Manager (FPM) or a similar CGI-based configuration. It is also possible that a different web server, such as Nginx, is being used instead of Apache. Consequently, Apache-specific functions such as apache_* are not available in this context.

Given these circumstances, I recommend that the installation of your software should be contingent upon verifying the availability of rewrite rules. It is important to note that even within Apache environments, the presence of rewrite rules cannot be guaranteed. Additionally, if a different web server like Nginx is being used, it may employ a distinct configuration format.
