I am having an issue with multiple headers, I created 3 headers and set page children to have the correct one, but only the top one is showing the right header, and the child pages are the default header. I have had this issue on another site and added manually, but, there are a lot of pages in this, and getting it working would be good! eg wedding section, all pages on there are child pages and I have had to add manually, but the fishing ection, I have set child pages and none have the right header apart from the fishing home page

The ability to use child pages to show a header does not work at all. We are having to assign manually, which is a pain!!

    Hello,

    1) I see error in the console while trying to edit multiple header https://prnt.sc/11qz4ht
Contact your hosting provider to increase the client_max_body_size to 20Mb.
    2) Once you change the limit and fix that error then reply back with the FTP access and we’ll check the child pages issue.

    Regards

    Hello,

We have fixed issue with the child pages. But we still see the server error in the console https://prnt.sc/125b6kt
Could you, please, provide us with server error logs to find out what limit causes the mentioned issue?

    Hello,

I checked your log file and see that you still have the error with the large body and peer closed connection in SSL handshake. So, contact your hosting provider and ask them to check these errors and change server settings to avoid issues while you try to edit the multiple headers.

We checked our mail server and we see that emails sent to james@feel*****.co.uk email. So, check the spam folder of this email.

I have spoken to the hosts who have changed settings, better, but still crashing and not updating/saving properly, they say there’s a jquery plugin in that you must have added to enable deprecated code to work on the site, presumably your theme code? https://www.dropbox.com/s/c03792fmpgdxjfp/Screenshot%202021-04-29%20at%2013.21.52.png?dl=0 see screenshot
PS, the option to be notified by email only shows if you edit a comment, not when making it, might need fixing in your support system as not obvious

Update, if you try editing multiple headers, nothing saves, it just hangs, can you give specific instructions for any hosting changes or is the error in your code?

    Hello,

Your hosting provider should increase body size limit to allow saving of the multiple headers that have a lot of conditions.

when you say conditions, do you mean where I had to specify dozens of pages to show headers as the child page option didn’t work. If I remove those, will it work?

    Hello,

    Please, contact your hosting provider and ask to set client_max_body_size 20M;
    https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/fix-client-intended-to-send-too-large-body-xyz-bytes-in-nginx/
It will fix your issue with saving.

the hosts say it’s already set , and that the site does not use nginx
Am I better abandoning x-store for this site and looking at another theme that can cope with multiple headers?

    Hello,

If you use Apache then change LimitRequestBody http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/core.html#limitrequestbody
If your hosting provider really increased that limit then you should not have the following error in the server error logs
*5398722 client intended to send too large body: 302015041 bytes, client: *.*.*.**, server: feel.construction, request: "POST /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php HTTP/2.0", host: "fe******ion", referrer: "https://********/wp-admin/customize.php?autofocus%5Bpanel%5D=header-builder"
So, ask if they really increased the LimitRequestBody to 10 or 20MB, try to edit headers after that. If you get the error then check the server error logs again and provide us these logs.

    Hello,

Probably you added a lot of conditions and every condition for every header you have increases the body size. So, reduce the number of the conditions/headers. We can do nothing with its size.

Not sure what you mean by conditions? I had to a dd a load as you chil page option did not work at all till you fixed it, but, then I deleted all sub headers, and added again from scratch, with chil child page set, so only one “condition” and still it does not work. It seems you are scrabbling to blame a load of other elements on the multiple header option not working properly. I have used this theme on many sites with no issue, until using multiple headers, where all the issues start. Maybe remove the feature on future iterations until you can make it work properly!

    Hello,

Can you tell me if you still have the same error in the server error logs? Because that error was before our fix. Could you provide a recent error log?

    Hello,

    1) We would recommend your hosting support to fix errors related to server configuration, for example

Cannot serve directory /var/www/vhosts/**********/httpdocs/**********/: No matching DirectoryIndex (index.html,index.cgi,index.pl,index.php,index.xhtml,index.htm,index.shtml) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive

    Got error 'Primary script unknown'

    etc.

    2) I checked your multiple headers and don’t see problem with changing. For example editor https://prnt.sc/12j97f3
frontend https://prnt.sc/12j98cq So, header builder works.

    Regards
