New taxonomy for part number on single product page

We would like to add a new taxonomy for part number as shown on this post https://www.8theme.com/topic/i-want-to-add-a-new-taxonomy-of-author/.

Seeing as it was successfully implemented, I can’t seem to make out how this was done referencing above link. If done we would like part number to “Mfr#” included so we can continue to make adjustments. I hope we can populate this column via csv as well.
