    Hi all,

This issue has been ongoing and it’s been getting quite frustrating and I’m not sure why it’s happening.

    Please see attachment labelled “Screenshot”.

Every now and again, the widgets in my sidebar keep getting removed without me touching them.

I first used the Shop Sidebar and attached all the widgets I needed into that sidebar but after a few times of this issue arising where widgets would just become inactive on their own, I switched to Main Sidebar, but the issue is still ongoing. It hasn’t happened in a few weeks but today it happened again.

See screenshot “Widgets”. Shop Sidebar is what I was using before. Then the Main Sidebar was used and widgets are being automatically removed from the sidebar and being classed as Inactive (see Inactive widgets attachment).

I would like to stress, I am not removing these widgets, they are being removed on their own accord, and I only find out they have been removed from the sidebar when I stumble across my archive page and see once again that the widgets have disappeared.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

I have left the widgets inactive as I want to show you the problem without fixing it.

I cannot recreate this problem and I have no idea what is happening to make it happen, I am just hoping it’s an issue you are aware of so it can be resolved.

    Thanks

    Hello, Applesandcider,

Thank you for reaching out to us and for providing detailed information regarding the issue you’re experiencing with the widgets in your sidebar. We understand how frustrating this situation must be.

Based on the information and screenshots you have provided, it appears that the widgets are being automatically moved to the “Inactive Widgets” section without any manual intervention. This is not a common issue. We would recommend you contact WordPress support.

Are you using any third-party plugins that might be affecting the widget behavior?
Have you recently updated the WordPress version or any plugins?
Are there any specific actions or changes you notice before the widgets are removed (e.g., theme customizations, plugin updates, etc.)?

    Best regards,
    8Theme’s Team

    Hey Rose,

Okay was just hoping you might be aware of it.

For the future I don’t anticipate doing much changes to the site so hopefully I should be able to narrow down why it happens when/if it happens the next time.

    Thanks for your time!
