Opened the site for indexing and google found a huge number of pages

    Hello. I have finished the site and opened it up for indexing. But google found a huge number of pages. These pages are all sorts of combinations (variations) of filters. All in all, it came up with more than 10000 of them!!! How can I make the pages with a question mark in their URLs (i.e. all pages with active filters or filter) not be indexed?
