Good afternoon,
My client called with a serious problem and am hoping you can shed some light into why this happened. (We’re wondering if this has anything to do with the latest updates.)
Three of his products became temporarily unavailable. He set them up as “Out of Stock” in the back end and they appeared “Out of Stock” in red for each of those products under the “Products” tab. (Instead of the green “In Stock.”) He didn’t have any issues for several weeks.
I updated his site a few days ago and over the weekend he received several orders, two of which included products that were labeled “Out of Stock” in the back-end of his site.
In the back end under “Products” tab, they all three appeared “Out of Stock” however when I went into the individual products to check (variable – different sizes), both sizes of each product were labeled as “In Stock” and were accessible for customers to place in their carts and purchase…
Since then, I’ve gone ahead and updated those products to be “Out of Stock” in their applicable variations because we can’t have customers ordering them right now. He’s upset because he has to contact those customers and tell them they are unavailable and is embarrassed.
Is there a second way for him to make an item APPEAR out of stock in the Product tab, meaning, is there a way that he could have changed the settings improperly? I couldn’t find anything and he wasn’t managing inventory on his site for any of those products.
I’m sending a link to a screen shot of one of the products (private content) to show you how it looked in the back end before I corrected it. It’s also showing “Out of Stock” now that it ACTUALLY IS out of stock. But the screenshot shows how it showed “Out of Stock” even though each product variation showed as being “In stock.”
Hopefully this is clear and I haven’t confused you.
Thanks,
Ashley
PS. My feature request is to be able to “filter” products by STOCK. Is that something you all can include on the next update? Would be so helpful. Thank you.
Hello,
Sorry, but this option is related to Woocommerce configuration, not the theme.
Have you tried checking it with default WordPress theme? Please try this.
If the issue persists there too, then the problem is with Woocommerce update.
Thank you.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
