Hi,
Page speed of my website dropped in GTMertrix from B to E. We didn’t make any changes, could you help us review theme speed settings/W3 Total cache
I tried some changes to the configuration removed some plugins without success
Hello, @Namaste,
I have recently conducted a speed test on your website using GTMetrix and the results can be found here: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/namaste24.pl/i76sKv20/
After analyzing your website’s GTMetrix report, I can see that there are several areas where you can improve your page speed. Here are some specific suggestions:
I suggest that you review the recommendations provided by GTMetrix and take the necessary steps to address them.
In particular, I recommend that you take a look at the “Avoid an excessive DOM size” issue. You can find more information about this issue in the following posts: https://docs.wp-rocket.me/article/1412-avoid-an-excessive-dom-size and https://isotropic.co/avoid-an-excessive-dom-size-on-your-wordpress-website/
To address this issue, you should edit your page and product elements and enable lazy loading for the product elements. This should reduce the DOM structure. Additionally, you may try to reduce the DOM results on the page by reducing the number of sections of the page/elements in the footer or header.
Optimize images: Your images are taking up a significant amount of your page size. You can optimize your images using WP Rocket plugin. It has an Image Optimization feature that automatically optimizes images as they are uploaded to your website or on existing images in your media library.
In addition to optimizing images, WP Rocket also offers many other performance optimization features like caching, minification of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript files, lazy loading of images, and more.
Use a Content Delivery Network (CDN): A CDN can distribute your website content across multiple servers worldwide, reducing the load on your server and improving load times. You can use a CDN like Cloudflare or StackPath with WordPress.
Consider using lazy loading: By using lazy loading, you can defer the loading of non-critical resources until after the initial load. This can significantly improve your page speed. You can use a plugin like Lazy Load by WP Rocket for this purpose.
Furthermore, I suggest that you remove/delete any themes, plugins, pages, posts, products, content, or media that are not being used on your site, as this will also have a positive impact on your site speed.
For more information on how to speed up your website, please refer to our theme documentation here: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/troubleshooting/how-to-speed-up-my-website/ and https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/troubleshooting/how-to-improve-wp-rocket-settings-with-xstore/
We hope this information is helpful.
Best regards,
8Themes Team
Thank you for providing this information.
The reason why I reached out for support is the fact that with the updates of the theme the speed is constantly changing.
It was B last week, after last update it dropped significantly to E
Additionally in the past months I had to modify settings like lazy load because of the glitches/conflicts with the theme
Just a moment ago I enabled lazy loading in theme speed settings – It slowed the site even more.
Also please confirm – should I change cache plugin from W3 total to WP rocket?
Hello, @Namaste,
Thank you for contacting us regarding the speed issues you have experienced with your website after the theme updates. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We want to assure you that the new update does not affect the optimized site speed. We understand your concern and we will do our best to help you with this issue. We suggest that you select the “Default” Image Loading Type under Xstore > Theme Options > Speed Optimization and check if there is any improvement in the website speed.
We kindly ask that you follow the instructions provided in our previous response in order to achieve the best results.
In response to your inquiry regarding changing the cache plugin from W3 Total to WP Rocket, we recommend trying WP Rocket cache plugins, as it is compatible with Xstore theme. However, before making any changes, we strongly advise taking a backup of your website to prevent any data loss.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We hope this helps.
Best Regards,
8Theme’s Team
