Hi, thanks in advance. And sorry for the long post, I want to be extra clear, so I don´t waste your time.
I´m in the moment to test how works the buying/paying process.
But when I click on the Place Order button it happens nothing. That problem is not new, is from at least 2 weeks ago, but I honestly thought was a lack of configuration while I was still working on other parts of the webpage.
If I Inspect the Checkout page, in my browser, it gives me 2 errors:
– Uncaught failed to find stick parent
– Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘indexOf’) –> this last one has 5 locations “at”.
Going to be honest with you, this is above my knowledge level, but I´m trying my best to figure out what is going on.
So far I have attempted the following solutions with no luck:
– Clean cache in my browser
– Clean cache and other steps in WooCommerce using its tools for it
– Rebuilding pages for WooCommerce
– Revisiting my Deliver options and also my Paying options at WooCommerce.
One thing that I found odd is that at the WooCommerce Home and at the WordPress Dashboard it keeps telling me that I have 1 more step to get the plugin work and apparently is the “Make your store stand out”, but I have done it already, but keeps anyway telling me I need that step, and never disappear the notification in the WordPress Dashboard, where it says that WooCommerce Setup is still needing something, but it shows me 8 out of 8 steps done.
And in any other tabs in the WooCommerce section, it says at the top right “Finish Setup”.
No idea if both things: the error when I Inspect the Checkout page and the notification that I have to finish the setup in WooCommerce, are related, but I wanted to give you all the information I have.
One last comment: perhaps also helps that in WooCommerce –> Settings –> Advanced I changed to spanish in some point in the past the following section: “Account endpoints” but I left in english: “Checkout endpoints”.
I read somewhere that maybe is an Ajax problem, but I havent done nothing yet in that line of solution. I need to research more to be able to tinker in that way. I did switched off most cache on the XStore settings.
At some point I had installed these plugins, but not right now:
– WooCommerce PDF Invoice
– Woocommerce Infinite Scroll & Ajax Pagination
– XStore AMP
Perhaps is being called a js that is not more available?… dont know, just shooting blind here.
You have been an incredibly help so far. And I´m grateful for that.
Finally, I´m using Vivid Backups, and I have one from last night with all my last modifications before facing this issue, just you know I can go back if things go wrong trying to fix it. No problems at all.
Hope you can help me in this issue, because I´m really lost right now.
Thanks in advance, have a great day.
Hello, @Ekomar,
Thanks for your detailed explanation, we really appreciate the time, you gave to debug and write that detailed explanation, it really helps us in understand the issue properly.
I have tried to find the cause of the issue and found that when I activated the WP default Theme Twenty Twenty Two on your site, the Place Order worked.
And then I tried to activate the XStore Parent Theme on your site and the Place Order button worked: https://postimg.cc/HVvGNrNf
So it makes clear that the issue is with your Child Theme Customization only. If you did any Customization in Child Theme then try to remove it and check back OR try to delete the Child Theme and Install the Fresh new one and check back. Hope this will resolve your issue.
Regards 8Themes Team.
Hi Awais, hope you are having a good day, sir.
I tried to delete and install again the child theme, but the problem keep appearing, I contacted Elementor Team for support, because one of the issues when I inspect the Checkout page, mentions a function from Elementor not responsive or something.
So, for now waiting them to answer, and see if they can help me.
For me, if there is a way to “clean” the child theme would be perfect, if you can advice something, even better.
Anyway, will let you know if I got anything from Elementor Team, and if I get it solved, will update this thread properly.
In the meantime, thanks a lot.
Best regards, Vlad.
Ok, after many hours, I found that if I disable in XStore–>Theme Options–>WooCommerce(Shop)–>Cart/Checkout Layout the “Advanced Layout”, then all works properly.
Now, playing around in the “Advanced Layout”, it only happens when is active and the layout chosen is “Classic”, when Multistep or Separated is on, the issue don´t happens.
Problem is… I like the Classic Layout and I dislike/don´t need the Multistep or Separated ones.
Now, is not a problem to have off, as long as I can decide/edit some of the layout designs, like for example the distance between the header and the checkout window. Without the Advanced Layout/Classic On, it shows the default header for the entire site, which is ok, but is no space between that and the checkout windows.
Also, I want to be able to change how looks sections of it, like the size of the text in the Accept the Terms and Conditions, etc.
Where I can edit/manage/configure all of it if I can´t use the Advanced/classic layout?
Maybe using Elementor Pro instead?
Last thing: for reasons that I can´t recall, the logo image that appears between checkout, paying and back to cart background is huge, like really huge, but I have changed so many times in so many places to a smaller logo, with no luck, could we get it right?.
Thanks a lot, Awais, was really helpful the insight about the child theme, hope you can help me with what is left now as an issue.
Best regards.
Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
Take our apologies for this inconvenience. Fix for the “Advanced Layout” functionality will be added in the next theme update, we will release the update within a week, by that time disable this layout and use the default one, please.
After the update, you will find new settings added also, so you will be able to continue work on the checkout page after the update.
Regards
Thanks Rose, hope you are having a good day. 🙂
