Hi Legenda team,
We have a site currently on theme version 2.2 and the new version is 2.9.2 – (October 12). We are for the first time enabling WooCommerce.
Since WooCommerce had a significant update we installed a dev version of the site instead of enabling woocommerce on the live site so that we get things sorted out before we went live. The dev site has a more recent theme applied and the portfolio type pages are not currently displaying.
This client uses the portfolio feature extensively to showcase their wine producers. (they are a wine distribution company). It is my understanding that the Portfolio feature in a more recent version of Legenda is going to cause major disruption to the features we use related to this portfolio post. But I am having trouble finding any documentation on what I can expect. Can someone explain to me what’s going to happen to this content when we upgrade the theme?
Also see private notes for more information for context. Thanks. Theresa
One more thing – looks like removing the posts grid [showing posts of the type etheme_portfolio] widget brought the basic page back online but showing it breaks the page altogether.
Also, the video mp4 no longer displays.
Hello,
As I see Post Grid element is removed on your Producers page in dev site.
Re-add it and portfolio projects will be shown.
Video isn’t working because it’s asked to enter YouTube link, but you put the link to mp4 file.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
On the video – we did not originally have it querying for a youtube video – we were able to pull it in from the video library. Dev is different from the live site as we’re doing damage control there – trying to figure out how to get things back to looking like the site on production. Are you saying that the live site is looking for a youtube video – I’m confused. We want to host the video ourselves.
Please advisei. Thanks, Theresa
Hello,
Visual Composer plugin was updated and some options were changed, so now to add video background you need put Youtube url of your video in the row settings.
Thank you.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
Ok. Will update. Will the video background loop [what I want] will it end and show a youtube branding and other videos…?
Also, on the grid post widget – the thumbnail is not displaying? did we miss something in the edit/configure or is that no longer an option to include the thumbnail in the teaser?
Video: So we’ve updated the dev to use youtube for the video – but on the old theme/plugin version we could add a screen on top – how do we do that now? See how you can’t read the text bc the imagery is too bright…
Hello,
Unfortunately such feature was removed in VC update.
You can change text color to make it clearly visible.

Eva Kemp.
Hello Legenda support – I am still working out kinks from updating the theme, wpbakery, and woocommerce.
As others have noted there seems to a lot of fall out from the WPBakery updates lately. In mobile, our padding got totally whacked. Please see the attached document showing the comparison.
You can see it live on our dev site. see private content again for information. We’d like to get as close to the current production before we switch the site over.
please note that we are trying to go live with this and if I have approval we may go live today. If that happens you’ll know because “Marketplace” will be in the main menu. In this moment we have not turned it over yet. I’m hoping to do that today no matter what I have client approval.
Please advise. thanks. theresa
p.s. is there a quick way to find all of my posts over time? I can’t seem to search for them….maybe there is a place where a registered user can see all their historical posts?
Hello,
We can’t open your site, there is an error:
Error – Timeout
Please check it with your hosting provider.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
HI Eva,
I’m not sure why there was an error but it should be available. Please have a look. Thanks, Theresa
Hello,
Sorry for a long delay.
As I see your dev site has theme version 2.9.1, not 2.9.2. Please update it. Also update Visual Composer plugin https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ .
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
