I’m using Royal Theme for a service website (no store, so haven’t installed Woocommerce). I want to use Portfolio to showcase projects and have followed each of the installation tutorials, but the portfolio page is blank.
I have uploaded the demo content and can see it under the portfolio tab, have been able to select the the portfolio theme I want under est. grid and applied the shortcode to the portfolio page.
If I select portfolio from the main navigation it defaults to the home page, and the same thing happens if I select preview from the page editor.
I have 2 questions really:
1. do you have a tutorial or documentation that deals specifically with setting up the portfolio?
2. can you help me with this problem?
Hello,
Please read in the documentation how to set up Portfolio page:

Hi Eva
I had already gone through and set the parameters using that guide… still nothing appears on my portfolio page, it just redirects back to the home page as explained in my initial topic #93701
Hi… Discovered that I needed to select Portfolio Projects under Setting>>Writing — Custom Content Types… Problem Solved
Dammit – thought I had it sorted… But nope, that didn’t work either. Any more advice for me???
Hello,

Hi Eva
Thanks for replying, but I eventually figured it out… I had followed your essential grid tutorial to the letter. editted the grid style I wanted and saved it as a new grid. Went to pages >> portfolio. Dropped the shortcode onto the page… then I launched the shortcode generator from the est. grid element and worked through it from there.
Long story short, I got there in the end… I really like 8Theme templates, they are amazing but I do feel that you need to create a few more tutorial videos to help novices like myself.
You have some very powerful features built into your templates, but you have to remember that many of your customers are like me… we a know a little, but not a lot.
Cheers
Don
