1. Hi, can you tell me how to customise the query for the ‘Archive Products’ widget in Elementor? I am trying to customise a Product Archive Page and I cannot get the ‘Archive Product’ Elementor Widget element to look as I want.
I have tried creating a new one and also imported a XStore template to edit. In both cases, when editing the settings, I see the text in blue box “Note: The Current Query is available when creating a Product Archive template. It will not work on non-product archive pages like Home, About Us, Contact us etc.”
There is no way to change the query. I am not sure if this is the intended functionality or not. You can see on the screenshots attached (and video in Private area) for the edit screen. I have a continuous loading symbol and a category is showing rather than products in edit view and on the live page I still have the continuous loading element and the products grid is messed up. I cannot get it to look as it does in any of the demos or pre-built templates.
I have some product archive pages that use the Theme Settings default product archive and the grid on those looks ok but it is messed up on the custom product archive pages. See attached screenshots of how it looks for me in Elementor editing and also on the live page. I also attach a screenshot of a product archive page (Tools) that does not use the XStore Builder but rather the theme settings, and you can see the grid is much neater.
Thank you
Hello, Darren Forde,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your query.
We would like to bring to your attention that if you have commenced utilizing builders, it is advisable to apply them across all product archives rather than limiting their use to a specific category. The recommended solution is to configure the display settings to show a template for all Product Archives, as illustrated in the following screenshot: https://prnt.sc/VuSGWJF3cngG.
Currently, you have templates designed for various categories. Therefore, it is necessary to create an additional template that will encompass all other Product Archives, including tags and the shop.
From a development perspective, I would like to clarify that since the system incorporates AJAX, the product blocks are replaced with those that have been found, which is understandable. However, if builders are used inconsistently—applied in some areas but not in others—this can lead to an issue where the blocks are unable to find their corresponding replacements, resulting in the hanging issue you are currently experiencing.
We trust that you will find this information useful and take the necessary steps to ensure a seamless and consistent user experience across your website.

Hi Rose, thanks for your message and the quick responses.
So if I understand you correctly I am ok to create a builder template for some categories as long as I also create a new default template for the other Product Archive Pages such as tags etc.?
Is the configuration in the attached screenshot correct in that case?
Will that resolve the hanging issue?
In my case, where I want customised category pages that only show sub categories and no products, is this the best way to achieve that or would I be better to create regular pages in place of product archive builder templates for categories and sub-categories?
Hello, Darren Forde,
Once you set the condition “All product archives” for a template the problem should be solved.
Another solution can be: Theme Options > WooComemrce > Shop > Shop page layout > Pagination type > set “Default” and check the Archive Product Widget after that.
Upon resolution of the issue, you will have the flexibility to experiment with various builders and configurations.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and are here to assist should you require further guidance.
