I have a problem with your theme. I am getting told many different reasons by my developers, so I really don’t know what to do here.

They are telling me VC is causing a conflict, but we have updated VC and WordPress files, and still problem exists.

I have paid and renewed my support with you so you can help, because I am at my wits end here.

The client has their website live, but we are updating it. So it is temporarily on a sub-domain where we are trying to make the client edit requests. Once this demo site is completely fixed, it will be swapped out onto the live domain for the company.

So I will give you all the logins you require to get this task done, ok!

The issue I have is this.

We want to make the home page slider a different function to what it is now.

Currently when you hover over the top big slider, the image zooms in. But the client does not want that. What they want is when we hover over the big top slider image, a NEW image appears – and people can click on that NEW image and it will take them to another page.

My developers are telling me this can’t be done due a site error in JS. It is a conflict and they believe it is a conflict with VC.

Please help as you are my last resort to resolve this issue.

My developer just said to me:

There’s no slider. It is just 5 images. When I trying to edit using the visual editor VC, we can not make edits due to the presence of a js error.

As I see you updated WooCommerce to the latest version but current theme version is not compatible with WC 3.2.0, a new theme update will be released within 2-3 days, so don’t forget to update theme.

(Please follow instructions and update theme via FTP
    https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/royal/#!/installation_upgrade
Before uploading theme files delete “woocommerce” folder, which is located in wp-content/themes/royal/ to avoid problems with old files (it’ll be reuploaded from a new theme package).
Don’t forget to create backup of your files and database before starting update process!
You need to enter your purchase code to activate the theme and skip Setup Wizard.

Also, update all required plugins: https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ http://prntscr.com/gtwfrk)

When I disabled all 3rd-party plugins, VC page editor got working without any errors in console https://prnt.sc/gwgqok Now I’ve activated them back. You can deactivate them one by one to find the needed plugin.
Sorry, but we don’t provide support for 3rd-party plugins.
I do not see slider on your page the first row of the page contains images, as you may see on previous screenshot. If you want to show slider on home page, simply create one https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/slider-revolution-documentation/ and set on page using VC element http://prntscr.com/gwgtjb.

Are you saying there IS an error with the plugins when they are turned on?

and you say woocommerce is NOT compatible, but it appears to be working for us.
So we will do the update in 2-3 days when you get your update done. But in the meantime is it working ok?

One of your 3-rd party plugins (means the plugins that are not included in the theme package are not in the list of required plugins) creates the problem. Please, try to disable all 3-rd party plugins and then check.

You are right it works, but in admin panel, you may see http://prntscr.com/gwhj60, to solve this simply update the theme when the new update will be available.

Yes I know what a plugin is. My question is if you found an error when the plugins were turned on? or no problem? I know you said there was a problem when the plugins were turned off, but I wondered whether you found the error when the plugins were turned on?

re: updates – yes that is fine. As long as it is working I’m not worried about that.

    thanks

When I checked your Home page content at first there was no content displayed and it couldn’t be edited, so I tried to disable plugins, after that the problem was solved.

    You’re welcome!

Yep ok, that’s what I thought.

Why my developer couldn’t tell me that, when I asked him over and over to disable the plugins to find the cause, is beyond me.

Anyway, it appears we are making progress now.

    thank you 🙂
