As per the PHP version, wouldn’t this break something on the existing website if it was reversed? because the version we use now is 5.4.
Concerning the IP it’s nothing to worry about, because your IP was given and whitelisted on our website before and nothing happened to it, now consider it being I leave my website open without that security for number of hours I can’t specify when you’ll come and work on the site, remember also that during this time while you are there hackers/spammers can seize the opportunity to wreck havoc on the site too.
Besides, we give you access to our site backend because we trust you, and you should also be able to trust us too and understand our own side too because of security issues flying around now. Please bear with us for now that it is better you give us your IP to be whitelisted on our site than us leaving our backend of our site for all and sundry to have unrestricted access.
