Regarding the “hide variable products” option, we would like to clarify that the functionality is designed to work specifically on product archive pages. When enabled, it hides only the parent product of variations, displaying the variation as a simple product.

Please note that this option does not affect the live site’s product layout but is intended exclusively for product archive pages.
