hello. I hope the team members had a nice Christmas.
question: I am using the demo “niche Market 03”.
I set the woocommerce image sizes to 1080px X 1350px for main product photo (recommended size by instagram) and 5:4 aspect ratio.
Woocommerce catalog image I left it at 300px.
with a plugin I was able to set the maximum image size that a seller could upload as product photo (1080px X 1350px)
I removed the 3 wordpress size options in the “media” section. I set them all to zero.
I don’t understand why so many different sizes are generated for each image. The idea is that they are only the sizes required by the demo and woocommerce.
I have generated about 8 different sizes of the same image. is this ok? is there any way to optimize it?
Thanks!
I wish you a great end of the year and a more “normal” 2022.
Best regards.
Hello,
Thank you for all your wishes and we also wish you all the best in the upcoming year!
WordPress generates a number or images sizes to use in different situations for optimal performance, you can read this post for better understanding https://enginescout.com.au/wordpress-image-sizes/ . WooCommerce also allows managing some image sizes for their catalog and a single product. So, generating of these sizes is normal but if you don’t use some of them on your site then you can disable them following WordPress guides. It’s not related to our theme.
