I have an error on my checkout whereas the Credit Card option (run by Woocommerce Payments) has stopped working. The boxes to enter credit card details are not coming up when customers choose this as an option. My customers cannot pay for orders now unless they use Paypal. I tried undoing the updates but still have the same error.
I have been working with WC support this morning and have had to set up a staging site to check for conflicts. Everything works okay with Storefront theme (and all my existing plugins) so they suggest it must be the theme causing the conflict. I also updated the Theme and Woocommerce on our other site (swankypins.co.uk) today and the same error has occured. I have had to revert to backups from yesterday to get that site working again but we have to resolve this so both sites can be updated, are working correctly and able to take payments.
You can see this screenshot on the staging site of it working correctly in Storefront theme, but the live site it isn’t working https://prnt.sc/4OYdW0EC2krG
Also the checkbox (i have read and agree to the website terms and conditions) has disappeared. Orders cannot be placed without customers checking this box. Could you please have a look at this as i can’t take orders as it stands.
I would also be grateful ilf you could let me know how to edit the checkout page (or provide some .css for formatting). All the Shipping options are pushed over to the right so that there is only one word per line and it looks messy.
Hello, @AshleyW,
I have checked your issue on your site when I add a product to the cart. Then I check the checkout page and all is working fine. The payment option of credit card and also the checkbox (I have read and agree to the website terms and conditions).
I have made a video for you to check that it is working fine for me here is the video URL: https://streamable.com/6obkdm Please watch the complete video for a better reference.
Regards 8Themes Team.
Hi,
No that is not correct. What you are showing in that video is Paypal debit/credit cards. Most people prefer to pay direct with debit or credit cards directly rather than through Paypal so this is a very important issue.
The two top options (Stripe) and WC payments
Credit card / debit card are not working. Try selecting either of those options, the credit card boxes are not there. I already sent you a screenshot of how it should look (when I changed to ‘storefront’ theme).
This screenshot is what should appear under Credit/Debit card. https://prnt.sc/kU3Td8q0Kb-s
(Although this is taken from our other site using Xstore, it is the same, woocommerce payments).
The checkbox I have reinstated, so that’s fine.
I would also be grateful ilf you could let me know how to edit the checkout page (or provide some .css for formatting). All the Shipping options are pushed over to the right so that there is only one word per line and it looks messy and the text under the ‘Klarna’ option is unreadable so I need to change this to white text.
Hello,
Please disable “Advanced Layout” in XStore–>Theme Options–>WooCommerce(Shop)–>Cart/Checkout Layout and check how it works then.
Let us know the result.
Regards
Hi, Yes the layout of the postal options looks slightly better now, but the text (when you chose a Klarna option) is still unreadable and I need to be able to change the colour of it. How do I do this?
My main problem however is that customers cannot pay for their orders when I have updated the theme. Please can you look at and compare my checkout pages.
On the live site (which has all plugins updated except Xstore Theme), checkout works okay. On the staging site I have updated the theme but nothing works on the checkout, no payment options.
The staging site is password protected – and for some reason you have to enter the details twice, but I attach the login details for the staging site so you can compare the two – pre-theme update and after theme update.
As I mentioned before, this has all been tested by disabling plugins and changing to STOREFRONT theme. All worked okay so it is definately a theme conflict.
Hello,
As I can see the “Advanced Layout” is not disabled on the staging site.
Please provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access to the site with the problem, after that, I will be able to pass this topic to our dev team.
Also, record a video of how it should work and the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
We have now sorted out some of the checkout issues but there is still an error related to payments on the product pages as you can see in this image.
https://prnt.sc/pC9w4W1AnGQ7
As we had this error on both our websites, we have entered code at your suggestion to remove it on the other website, but Woocommerce Payments say this is an element related to the Express Checkout buttons that are missing and it has been reduced to a 1px line (which you can see just before the – OR -. They recommended we get in touch with the theme developers and let them know it’s not working as intended.
Also I did ask about changing the text colour (when you chose a Klarna option at checkout), it is unreadable and I need to be able to change the colour of it. How do I do this?
Hello,
1/ How does it work when the default WC theme – Storefront is activated on your site? Please check and provide us with screenshots/video.
Widgets could be messed up after switching, so open the Appearance > Widgets tab before switching to be able to move the widgets to the correct area after switching back.
It is important to check if the problem persists with the default theme to find out if it comes from the theme or from something else.
Let us know the results and describe the desired result in more detail.
2/ We asked about temporary access. Please do not ignore our request.
wp-admin access: Create an account via Dashboard (Users > Add new) with administrator role http://prntscr.com/s3rc9m > provide us with username and password via the Private Content area http://prntscr.com/s5mao7 You can use any email for it.
ftp access: If you do not know how to create FTP contact with your hosting provider, they will help you.
Your Klarna content was added by a 3rd party plugin, I do not see a way to change the color quickly, so there is 2 ways: – you need to contact support of that plugin; – provide temporary access, then I will be able to ask our dev team check it more deeply.
We hope for your understanding, and we are waiting for your reply.

The – or – only appears if you have a Gpay or Apple Pay account registered on the browser you are using. It looks like this either of these https://prnt.sc/XN7B0CFZNErk or https://prnt.sc/QlxidZ_1PiBf when switching to Storefront. The Woocommerce payments plugin support did this.
We have the same problem on both our websites using Xstore.
Login details attached.
Thanks, Ash
Hello,
1/ You may add next custom CSS to your child-theme/style.css or Theme Options -> Theme Custom CSS -> Global CSS
.wc_payment_method iframe {
background: #fff;
}
2/ To fix OR text on the Single Product page you may add the next custom CSS (the path was described in prev answer)
.product-content .variations_button {
flex-wrap: wrap;
}
.product-content .variations_button #wcpay-payment-request-wrapper,
.product-content .variations_button #wcpay-payment-request-button-separator {
flex-basis: 100%;
}
It seems that you had only questions we answered above. If you have any questions, please, make them clear and write us – we will answer those as well.
