Hi
What do you recommend to us clients as the best order management system?
I was forced to download the jetpack plugin to get notifications of orders.
But seems like its slowing down the site, and comes with very much bloat.
What do you recommend instead as best practice?
Lookinf forward to hearing from you!
Hello, Nicolo,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your inquiry.
When it comes to order management systems, we recommend exploring lightweight and efficient solutions that integrate seamlessly with your website without compromising its performance. If Jetpack is causing issues such as slowing down your site or adding unnecessary bloat, you may want to consider alternative plugins or tools that are specifically designed for order management.
For WooCommerce-based websites, here are a few recommendations:
1. **WooCommerce Admin**: This is a free plugin developed by WooCommerce that provides advanced order management features, analytics, and notifications without the additional features of Jetpack. It’s lightweight and tailored for WooCommerce users.
2. **Order Delivery Date for WooCommerce**: If you’re looking for a tool to manage order notifications and delivery schedules, this plugin is a great option. It focuses on order management without adding unnecessary features.
3. **Advanced Notifications for WooCommerce**: This plugin allows you to set up custom email notifications for orders, ensuring you stay updated without relying on Jetpack.
4. **Third-Party Order Management Tools**: If you’re managing a high volume of orders, you might consider integrating with external order management systems like TradeGecko (now QuickBooks Commerce) or ShipStation, which can streamline your workflow.
We have not officially tested such plugins with our theme. Therefore, you will need to conduct the tests on your own, and in case any issues arise, please contact the plugin authors directly. If these recommendations do not meet your needs, we suggest reaching out to the WooCommerce support team for further assistance – https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/
As a best practice, we recommend regularly monitoring your website’s performance using tools like GTmetrix or Google PageSpeed Insights to ensure that any plugin you install does not negatively impact your site speed. Additionally, always keep your plugins and themes updated to their latest versions for optimal performance and security.
We hope this helps!
Best regards,
8Theme’s Team
