    Hello,

I once added a redirect code, when the user clicks on a category in the store, he is redirected to the selected page. I added this feature in “Theme file editor” in Theme functions (functions.php). I would like to remove it, however, in functions.php there is no code that I added at all, there is only the base code. I added this two xstore updates ago

    Please help

    Please, contact administrator

    Hello, @Kombajn88,

Thank you so much for purchasing our theme and contacting our support center.

If you were making modifications directly in the parent theme and then updated the theme, your changes could be overwritten by the update. This is a common issue when making direct modifications to the main theme files.

If the redirect feature was added through the “Theme file editor” in the “Theme functions” (functions.php) file, but you can’t find the code there now, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

    Child Theme Check:
First, make sure that you are checking the correct functions.php file. If you are using child themes, modifications might be in the child theme’s functions.php rather than the main theme’s functions.php.

    Child Theme Creation:
If you still can’t find the redirect code, consider creating a child theme if you haven’t already. This allows you to make modifications without affecting the main theme, and it’s easier to track changes.

    Best regards,
    The 8Theme Team.

I have not used child themes before. If I add it, will my problem go away?

Do you perhaps know where in the xstore theme in the files I can look for the functions.php overwritten with my code?

    Dear @Kombajn88,

We hope this message finds you well.

We would like to inform you that any custom code added directly to the parent theme will be overwritten upon updating the theme. To prevent this, we highly recommend utilizing a child theme. Should you prefer not to install a child theme, an alternative solution is to employ a third-party plugin.

For your convenience, we have installed the WPCode Snippet plugin on your behalf, which can be found at the following URL: https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-headers-and-footers/. Additionally, we have taken the liberty of adjusting the codes for you to ensure optimal functionality.

Should you require any further assistance or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best regards,
    The 8Theme Team

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help and commitment, the best support

When I started creating the store I thought that I had to create each category page myself by creating pages.

Then I found out that to do it from the position of WordPress (by adding categories) and then the whole store works correctly (display prducts, sorting, etc.)

Unfortunately, now when I select a category from the top menu (img) it takes me to the page I created myself, instead of the category page.

I would like to undo this, just don’t know how.

    Dear @Kombajn88,

We hope this message finds you well.

We would like to inform you that the section you are currently viewing is the secondary menu. To update the links for the menu items, kindly proceed to the following URL: [Private Content]

Please follow these steps upon arrival at the designated page:

    1. Remove the existing menu items.
    2. Subsequently, add the product categories, which can be found on the left-hand side of the interface. For your reference, here is a screenshot illustrating the process: https://prnt.sc/Rf4KqehM_CWN
