Hello
ive been testing my site as it is mostly complete however i have a problem with registering as a new customer.
When i register as (for example) John Smith with johnsmith@gmail.com it is fine – i am registered. But the problem is if a new user registers and their name is also John Smith even with a different email address i get a message saying username already exists.
I have tried enabling/disabling create username with email address but the problem persists.
It is not woocommerce, it is the page template i think?
Could you please tell me how to fix this problem? Also is there a way to add a username field?. In the possible situation where two customers have the same name i want them to be able to create and account! and also, if they are checking out and choose ‘create an account’ i dont want an error like this holding up a purchase.
I have included my WP login details in the private content.
Thank you very much
Hello,
Please provide us with FTP credentials and we’ll fix the issue.

hi eva,
thank you for your reply.
I have put my ftp account info in the private content to rectify the username issue. It isn;t really clear that your ‘Full Name’ is actually what your username should be. Perhaps it would be better to have the Field name as ‘Username’?
I have another question – sorry for all of them. On the mobile site is it possible to have the word ‘MENU’ by the horizontal menu icon on the mobile site (so it is clear where the menu is)
This may be too complicated or perhaps there is a plugin but on the ipad is it possible to show the full menu like it shows on the desktop?
Thank you so much for your help, i really appreciate it. If any of this stuff I can do myself, please let me know.
Thanks
Hello,
We’ve done some changes. Please check it now!

Thank you very much – that looks great. I see you’ve added a captcha block which is great and fine by me , but is it possible to add a field like the other fields that says ‘Enter the Code below’ or words to that effect?
Also regarding the mobile/tablet question above – is this something that can be done?
Thank you very much for your quick assistance!
One more query – is there a reason you added the captcha block – i don’t mind but just wondering if you think it is necessary for some reason?
when i update my theme, what do i need to do to ensure that changes you’ve made are retained?
thank you very much.
Hello,
You’ve got new file for registration form, which by default has captcha and will be included in new theme release. So you need not to worry about updating the theme.
We’ve added the “Enter the Code below” label.
Regarding the question about mobile menu modification – this is additional customization and it’s paid service.

Hi Jack
Thank you for adding that text – much appreciated.
I might try to adjust the code so that the text is above the captcha box – do you think that will work ok?
Regarding the mobile menu – i see on this thread Eva was able to add the word menu to this customers mobile site: https://www.8theme.com/forums/topic/mobile-menu-adjustment/ – This is just what i want if thats ok?
Thank you very much.
Hello,
I’ve modified header.php and custom.css files.
Please check your site on mobile device.

Eva Kemp.
Hi Eva,
Thanks for your help. It looks fine on the phone but on an ipad the ‘MENU’ title is on the top left of the screen – and the menu icon (three horizontal lines) is on the right hand side of the screen. Is this able to be put beside each other.
If possible could you please make it uppercase?
On my computer about 20 minutes ago i had a command prompt pop up that said 1files copied – would that of been you on the ftp? I been running all my antivirus just now but when I saw you email I thought it may have had something to do with you accessing the ftp?
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Julia
Hello,
Please check it now.
Yes, we have logged into FTP account. Don’t worry.
Let us know if you need more help.

thank you very much – that looks fantastic. im sorry for asking so many questions. the only thing is the mobile menu isn’t uppercase but that is just being picky – i’ll try and edit the code – or you can paste it here if you like. no urgency.
ok so the command box popping up with 1 files copied, 1 files copied, would of been you? Im just concerned about a virus.
thank you very much again for you help. i think this will be the last question for awhile!
You’re welcome.
We’ve just edited one file, but haven’t copied it. You may check your site for any suspicious files with some antivirus to be safe.

Hi Eva
The Menu text you added to my site is showing on the desktop version. Can you please remove this or tell me how to.
My site also seems to be quite slow when I checked it this morning. Would this have something to do with the addition.
Thank you
hi again
i edited some code myself and it seemed to have taken the menu text off the desktop site.
What i did was delete ‘<div class=”menu-icon-text”>MENU</div>’
from this code in the header.php file ‘<?php if(etheme_get_option(‘right_panel’)): ?>
<div class=”side-area-icon hidden-phone hidden-tablet”><i class=”icon-reorder”>
</i></div>
<?php endif; ?>
</div>
<header class=”header header<?php echo $ht; ?>”>
<div class=”container”>
<div class=”logo”><?php etheme_logo(); ?></div>
<div class=”menu-icon hidden-desktop”><i class=”icon-reorder”></i></div>
</div>
</header>
It seems to have retained the icon on the tablet and phone site – but taken it off desktop.
Please let me know if what I did was right or if I need to change some code.
Thank you
Julia
ps. thank you for making the mobile text uppercase.
Hello,
Did you change login credentials to admin panel? We’re unable to access it.
Please provide us with the correct login details and we’ll fix the issue with “menu” text.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
Hi,
Yes I did.
After the code I edited the site seems to be looking ok – but if you need to clean the code or change it then please go ahead.
I have changed the login details back to what there were so you can log in.
Thank you
Just to clarify: do you still need “Menu” text beside the menu icon on mobile devices?
Please confirm and we’ll fix it.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
Hi Eva
Yes, like you had done last yesterday – MENU beside the icon in mobile and tablet. That was looking good however the MENU was then also showing on the desktop version. I made the changes to the code above and it disapeared from the desktop, and stayed on the mobile/tablet – this is what I want it to do.
I’m just not sure if the code I changed is optimal – it worked but you might think it needs to be written diffferently.
So to be clear – the word ‘MENU’ beside menu icon in mobile/tablet. The word ‘MENU’ not on the desktop header (where it was showing up).
I hope that makes sense?
Thank you
We’ve made changes in header.php and custom.css files.
Now the “menu” text is showing correctly.
Please check.

Eva Kemp.
