Hi There,
How do we remove the H1 heading from breadcrumbs and add actual H1 headings onto the posts? Adding H1 tags to breadcrumbs is not an SEO best practice.
Curently I did a fix using a child theme breadcrumb file. but would like a proper fix so I can inherit new features of the theme since you guys update a lot.
i also want to remove the category from the breadcrumb on the blog category pages
Hello,
h1 tag in breadcrumbs is related to page/product/post title, so not sure why this is bad for SEO. Anyway if you want to edit breadcrumbs structure and tags (xstore/templates/breadcrumbs.php) there is no way than additional customization, unfortunately.
Regards
thanks so I guess i have the correct fix.
It’s best practice to have the H1 as a heading on the age as opposed to hiding in the breadcrumb 😉
You’re welcome!

Hi “nichemarket”,
could you please share with me your described fix?
is ‘t “just” copying the breadcrumbs file to a templates folder inside your child theme and changing the line at the near bottom containing the H1 tags?
Hello, @nichemarket
We would be grateful if you share your solution for this.

Hello, @MichaelB
Ok.

Oh this is important! I wrote a ticket earlier on the subject too.
There is now double H1 in product pages and Google hates it. (try sending a product to Google merchant center..)
I can’t go to option to show product name only in breadcrumb because customers need to see the product name – in big font.
I support warmly to change the breadcrumb to anything else than H1, lets say H2 or H3 or anything else please.
Hello,
Could you, please, submit feature request to display the product title in both places here https://www.8theme.com/taskboard/ and leave your vote? Our developers will check and try to implement this feature if it gets a lot of votes.
Regards
