Dear 8T,
thank you for this theme. The checkout page in my localhost environment isn’t validating fields: basically I can even leave everything empty and the checkout continues without lifting a finger.
What’s going on? My localhost environment is a normal MAMP stack.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Enrico
Hello,
Are you using “Step by step” checkout form?
If so error messages will be shown only when you try to place order.
Please check it once again.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
Hey Jack,
well, that is a real usability problem: users don’t want to go back 2 steps when they are placing an order.
1) How could I hook inside that step and maybe try at least a JS validation? Give me some insight and remember that I have created a child theme, so I’m not working directly on your files.
2) Is there a way to make the step go back immediately to “Billing Address” as soon as “Place order” fails, so that the user is already presented with the field he/she has left empty?
Please advise,
Thanks
Hello,
Sorry, but it’s beyond our basic support scope and this requires additional customization which you can request via this form https://www.8theme.com/customization-services/ .
Thank you.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
