    Hi,

I have purchased your id store theme three times and am using it across three different websites. I’ve updated one site and now the slider has stopped working. I see in your forum it advises to update the id store theme. Firstly, where do I find the updated theme? Secondly, I have updated the theme once on a different site and lost all of my customisation. How can I update your theme without losing so much of my work?

    Please help ASAP.

    Cheers,

    Jordan

Hello, please read here how to update: https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/idstore/index.html#!/upgrade
If you have edited any .php or .css files of your theme – copy them before update, create child theme and paste there those edited files. Please make any future customization only in child theme.
You may read how to create child theme here http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

    Hi Stan,

    Thank you for your help.

I’ve read the child theme instructions, and to me, it looks easier to
copy the content of the functions.php file (the only one I’ve
modified), do the update and then paste the old HTML back into the new
    functions.php file…

Is there any reason not to do this?

    Hello,

Yes, after update you can replace the original functions.php file with the one you modified. But having child theme you don’t need replace anything after update as the files from child theme won’t be overwritten.
This is up to you how you wish to proceed.

    Thank you Eva,

I have now re-downloaded the theme from themeforest, uploaded it via FTP and recoded the function.php file(all successfully). However, the revolution slider is still not working.

    Please help, it’s quite urgent.

    Thank you.

As I see there is an error: “Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function” in /wp-content/themes/idstore_theme_v.3.3/idstore/js/script.js directory. Have you made any changes to original files? Also I’m unable to log in to FTP with the credentials you provided. Please check them and provide us with the correct ones.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hello,

We’ve fixed issue with slider. The problem was that you probably have update only some theme files, but not whole theme. That’s why you had theme compatibility problem with the latest WP version.

As you didn’t update your theme files completely you may face new issues. That’s why, please watch the video tutorial how to update – http://youtu.be/KdWESIIPU1k (video is recorded for Legenda theme, but upgrading procedure is analogical for IDstore).

    Regards,
    Jack Richardson
