Hi there,
I noticed in the theme that I can change the color of the footer. However, I would like to have a background image instead of a color. How do I go about adding a background to my footer?
Thank you in advance,
Holly
Hello,
You need create footer via Static Blocks https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/royal/#!/9_footer and add background image in the row settings in VC editor.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
I don’t see virtual composer in the static blocks area. Just the plain wordpress editor.
Hello,
To get VC editor shown for static blocks go to wp dashboard > Visual Composer > Role Manager > Post Types > Custom > tick “static blocks”.
Regards,
Rose Tyler.
Ok – thanks! That did the trick to show the Virtual Composer. Thank you!
Now I am having an issue that it’s not showing the background image that I added to the row in my static block – so my footer is still not showing.
This is the page I am working on:
http://diamondorthoticlab.com/about-us/
It shows an image if I just put one in the content area so I know the static block itself will show. But for some reason my row background is not. I would use the other method but it doesn’t go from edge to edge of the website content area. I added an empty space block just in case it needed some height to show the footer but that still didn’t work.
So, right now – I have an image in the static block and below it – the row with the image set as the row background. Both should be showing but the row is not showing the bg. Is there some setting I am missing or something like that?
And here is some additional information if you need it…
Hello,
I’ve enabled the option “Include styles from “Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer” on every page” in Theme Options > General.
Check footer now.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
I’m still not seeing it.
Also, I moved the site. It is now at http://diamondorthoticlab.com/newsite
I moved it because you thought the index.html file in the main directory was the reason for my home page problem – but that is still an issue as well.
All credentials are the same – wordpress files are in the newsite folder.
Hello,
Not all files were moved. For example wp-includes folder is missing. Please check it attentively and restore your site as now it’s giving an error http://storage5.static.itmages.com/i/16/0825/h_1472109671_4621407_b0df94e99e.png .
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
I am aware… I am currently working on reinstalling wordpress and the template and all plug-ins into the new directory. I will see if that fixes the problem. If not, I will let you know.
Hello,
Ok. Looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
Things are better – I can see a footer now after fresh install of everything. YAY!
However, it’s not displaying properly. I want a footer with a basic background and a copyright that shows over that. And possibly a menu along the bottom. But that’s for another day.
Any help or instructions for this? Driving me crazy.
I added content to both the footer 1 and footer 2 widgets but at the bottom of the edit page area where it says to choose a custom footer, only default and footer 1 show as options.
I tried to use the custom widget option instead and not select a footer but that doesn’t show right either.
There’s a black bar running through the footer – which I don’t want. And I’m having a hard time getting it to fit in the width of the website. I want it to go edge to edge of the boxed site and at the very bottom.
I’m hoping you can help.
Hello,
We still can’t access your site:

Please check it with your hosting provider.
Also you need create footer using Static Blocks as described in the documentation https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/royal/#!/9_footer
To enable Visual Composer editor for static blocks go to WP Dashboard > Visual Composer > Role Manager > Post Types > tick needed elements.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
