I updated the royal theme and it removed my headers and footers. I restored the old one in the meantime. I made a brief video showing things, easier to show than explain:

Hello,
I see that you use child theme. Did you make changes in the header? Provide us with FTP access to your site to check and help you with the update.
Regards
I have not made any changes to the headers or footer. Been a couple years ago since last changed.
Much appreciate your help!
I prvided the requested ftp info in the private content area yesterday. Thx.

Awesome. Can you tell me what I need to be aware of next time I update thew theme?
Hello,
Nothing. I have made everything using theme settings and just removed files that were overwritten before.

When I update in the future is there anything I need to pay attention to? I have been unable to update the theme without something not working.
Hello,
Update both: Royal theme and Royal Core plugin from Dashboard > Updates or using FTP. There are no other special things you need to do. You had a problem with the last update because your theme was too old, we moved from Option Tree framework to Redux and few files were overwritten in your child theme. Always do the backup before theme and core plugin update. If you need our help with this just submit a topic.
Regards
