Shop page defaults to woocommerce shop page

I am using one of the Xstore themes. My shop page defaults to the woocommerce base page for layout, displays, style which looks ugly. How can I revert it back to the xstore theme shop page with Elementor enabled? It seems like woocommerce base page takes over the elementor and disables it. Please help.

I also tried safemode option in the elementor setting. I don’t get the error ‘the preview could not be loaded error 500″ which suggest there must be an issue with the theme. Something with wordpress default loop not used int he layout? The error started when I selected shop page to be my base page under Woocommerce Setting > Product.
