    Hi,

I need to set the shop sidebar categories widget to display or change categories by language while browsing in the shop. Right now it seems to have problems doing that. Do I need to somehow set the widgets translatable with WPML or what are the options to achieve that?

    Br,
    Henrik

    Hello,

To display a widget in all languages, please go to Appearance > Widgets > settings of widget > Display on language > All languages https://prnt.sc/UOjhB5UnZT7j

For more information, please refer to the WPML documentation: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-widgets/

Well the problem at the moment is when I set it to all languages it actually does display the categories in all languages but I need it be show only English when it is chosen from the language switcher. I thought I had some categories in the wrong language if I look at the categories by language in WooCommerce but that doesn’t seeb to be the issue. I also added a picture and highlighted the area. Basically I need the shop sidebar widget to be different according to language but right now it seems it’s not enabled also. The previous version of the site used the function so you could edit the widgets as blocks and choose the language.

I don’t have access to WPML support because an other developer has purchased the plugin but isn’t there any options to activate to edit and set the widgets as blocks according to a language like with the previous versions of X-Store?

    Hello, Henrik Kriiger,

The Product Categories widget is a default widget of the WooCommerce plugin, and its options are not dependent on our theme.

I contacted our previous developer who had purchased the all bundle WPML years ago so the product is activated but they don’t provide support for him anymore as they have updated their policy so we can’t create a ticket in the WPML support forum. Is there anyone from your team who could do it?

    Hello, Henrik Kriiger,

Have you been able to resolve the issue?

Yes, you can add 2 Product Categories widgets to the Shop sidebar and select to display them for different languages.

    Hi!

I discocered that option also but right now the categories widget still seems to display some wrong categories that are not even visible via WooCommerce categories according to that language. I think some WPML and WooCommerce translatsion configurations need some tweaking (maybe the url structure?). I’ll let you know when I have set up the environment so you could take a look at it yourself.

    Hello, Henrik Kriiger,

In this case, we recommend reaching out to the WooCommerce support team – https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/ .

As far as we can see, the issue is out of our scope, so unfortunately we cannot help.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Please let us know if you require any other assistance.

    Kind Regards,
    8theme team
