    On the home page of the Engineer demo, there is a “Sidebar” which we changed to have a maximum depth of “1”, as we have many subcategories and the page is getting long, but we’d really like to show the hierarchy with all subcategory depth but the categories collapsed on initial view. Is this possible?

    Yes, Theme Options > WooCommerce > Shop elements > Categories > keep this option disabled http://prntscr.com/ve6i1d
