Single product pages are not showing as supposed in the theme

    Hi,

    I inherited the website http://www.ambasciatoregusto.com from an old webmaster that created the shop for my current client. As I couldn’t get any support from her I had to buy again the template on Envato in order to get support from your side.

    It is a multilingual webiste and the old webmaster created a child theme that it is active and in use right now. The problems I am experiencing are basically the ones below:

    1) These are the 3 shops:

    if I switch between the grid and list view on the list view product category and excerpt are not showing right below the product title. What should I do in roder to show those info as here https://www.8theme.com/demo/legenda/product-category/men/
    On both views each item in the list <li> shows a dot (lyst-style is missing), I know how to solve it with css and I wrote a tag for the grid view, but it shouldn’t happen if everything was fine, so it might be good to check this too.

    2) If you have a look at the product pages the product information block it is not showing. You will easily see that product image, thumbnails, product code, category, excerpt, quantity and add to cart are not there. If I upload sizing guide images, they won’t appear neither.

    3) As it is a multilanguage website how can I show a different block of content on top of each shop? I need the same chop of text translated into different languages.
    Now you will see there is an English intro text. that has been set in the Theme Options under Shop > Product Page Banner. If I delete that and set a different copy on each shop page the English copy will still show up in the Product Page Banner and on the pages too. I tried million times. How should I do it with WPML?

    3) If I modify the settings on the “Product Page Layout” and “Single Product Page” nothing happens. No sidebar, no share buttons are appearing, no product name etc.

    Hello,

    What woocommerce version do you use?
    Could you please provide wp-admin access in Private Content?
    Do you have these problems if parent theme activated?

    I forgot to mention I tried to enable parent theme and got the same result.

    Please provide wp-admin access in Private Content.
    Also, if you want to translate some Theme Options go to WPML > String translation > scroll down and press on “Translate texts in admin screens” link.
    You’ll see list of fields, choose the fields you’d like to translate and press “Export selected strings as PHP code to be added to the theme code” button. After that go back to String Translation section and translate necessary content http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/

    You use latest woocommerce version but old theme version, so need to update theme https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/legenda/#!/installation_upgrade
    and update all required plugins https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ http://prntscr.com/gzbjpp
    Before uploading theme files delete “woocommerce” folder, which is located in wp-content/themes/legenda/ to avoid problems with old files (it’ll be reuploaded from a new theme package).
    Don’t forget to create backup of your files and database before starting update process!
    You need to enter your purchase code to activate our new theme version and skip Setup Wizard.

    Ok, let me follow the process you suggested above. I will come back to you tomorrow confirming if everything it is right and clear to me or if I still expreience any problem with the template.

    Hi,

    I could solve the issue with WPML and translated the copy at the top of the shop, thanks for the instruction.

    I updated the theme and now problems I mentioned to you it looks like they are solved ( for instance http://www.ambasciatoregusto.com/prodotto/nduja-piccante-calabrese/), but all my layout is broken and I need to solve a huge amount of issues. TI wanted to start fix them, but when I click on the 8Theme Options I get a message “You are not allowed to access this page”, I am basically locked out of that area.

    As I mentioned a webmaster did the website for the client before me, she bought the template long time ago and had her purchase code that was not disclosed to the client nor to me, so in order to provide support and solve all the client’s requests I was forced to buy again the template now at Envato.

    Is this causing the issue? Please let me know if this can be solved as I am skrewed with the client in that case.

    I deleted the woocommerce folder and uplopaded the theme update with FTP replacing the old folder. Now it is asking me to do the setup wizard, can I skip this part or is there anything I have to do there as well?

    Problem solved.
    Now I have other 2 issues.

    1) If I add the translations for a certain string in WPML translations show up for the next 10 minutes, each language division has his own and everything seems fine.

    After 10 minutes if I jump back to the page only the EN one it is showing, all others are gone.

    2) the other issue it is related to woocommerce as the quantity field seems it is broken, something it is wrong with it and no additional css rules written by me or the previous webmaster are clashing with it. An example: http://www.ambasciatoregusto.com/prodotto/olio-extra-vergine-doliva-bio/

    Hello,

    I am glad that you sorted out.
    1) Please try to disable all 3-rd party plugins (means the plugins that are not included in the theme package are not in the list of required plugins) and then check the WPML problem.
    2) Is the problem solved http://prntscr.com/he3ry7 ?

    Hi, yes problem 2 looks like it’s solved.

    Regarding the issue with WPML I tried what you said but unfortunately nothing changed. When I update the translation in the string stranslation window and I refresh the shop page I see my new content, but after a few minutes it goes back to the english version all the time.

    I notice in the field this chop of code appears all the time immediately after the string:

    I noticed this in other templates I was working with in the last 3 months, do you have any idea about what it might be? something related to the latest WordPress updates?

    – you need to check changes that you made in the child theme because with parent theme it works fine https://prnt.sc/he9zcx

    Regarding the list view you are right, if I activate the parent template it works correctly so it must be something wrong in my child-theme.
