Dear Support,
I am having variable products with different sizes and colors. I need to display selected products with respect to their color or size and hide certain variations. As per the discussions with the support earlier, I was informed that this functionality cannot be achieved by the theme in-built functionality “Show variations as simple product” and advised to use an external plugin for this purpose.
Now, we are using an external plugin for this purpose and the plugin is not functioning as expected because the inbuilt theme option conflicts with the plugin.
Could you please provide a solution to disable the inbuilt theme functionality “Show variations as simple product” for showing and hiding the variations or a function to override the inbuilt functionality.
We are stuck because the theme inbuilt feature is not fully developed at the same time we cannot use an external plugin because the theme feature although disabled create a compatibility issue.
I hope that you could help us to find a solution.
Best regards.
Fabio.
Hello,
Provide URL, temporary wp-admin, and FTP access, so we can take a closer look.
Please note that we do not give a guaranty for full theme compatibility with all existing 3rd party plugins. Sometimes, not always, you need additionally customize the theme or plugin to make them work together. Unfortunately, it’s not possible for the author to make the theme compatible with all the existing plugins and additional customization is outside the scope of our support.

Dear Rose,
Thank you for your response. I understand that you cannot guarantee full compatibility of the theme with any plugin, at the same time considering that the inbuilt feature of the theme is not fully developed I cannot use it. This is the reason why I was forced to buy an external plugin, however if the theme does not allow the external plugin to work because of compatibility issue, there is no solution to implement single product variation. This is a problem.
Allow me to provide you more details about the issue. XStore has the single variation inbuilt feature, however it does not allow to hide specific variations. This is a problem because, although there are needs to display single variations for example because the product has different colors there are other type of variations that do not require (cannot) to be displayed. If the product has different sizes, you do not want to display single variation of the product. This is not adding anything to the product listing, on the contrary is making the product listing messy. For example we would have a product listing with the same product image, listed multiple time for each of the size variation.
I tried the external single variation plugin on a different theme and works fine.
What I kindly ask is either to fix the compatibility issue or further develop the inbuilt theme single variation feature in a way that i could hide products that should not be listed because the variation is not relevant. At the moment the feature is either showing everything (all possible variations) or nothing (no variations).
I hope that you could be provide a working solution.
Best regards.
Anita
Hello,
Could you, please, provide us with a video or screenshots of how the shop page should display products with the default theme and the problem that appears with our theme for better understanding?

I hope that you could provide me a solution.
Fabio.
Hello,
I checked this page http://www.staging17.muranoglassitaly.com/product-category/murano-glass-chandeliers-lighting/modern-glass-chandeliers/ , enabled default WooCommerce theme Storefront and don’t see the additional variation of the mentioned product https://prnt.sc/22yr4wv
Please, make the plugin work with the default theme first and then reply back and we’ll check how it works with the XStore. Or tell us what filter did you use?
Regards
