    Hi,

    I updated Legenda. This broke the frontsite and set all translations back to english.

    Would you please take a look

    a) at the front site

    b) I created a backup folder “legenda_backup” in the theme folder. Would you please point out how to get the german translations to the updated theme in “legenda”?

    I added sftp + admin access data in the private section.

    Thank you!

    Best regards

    Hello,

    We can’t connect via FTP:
    Error: ssh_init: Name or service not known
    Error: Could not connect to server

    Please check it.

    Regards,

    Hello,

    I see only default.po/.mo files in the directory wp-content/themes/legenda/languages. Have you updated the theme just uploaded it as a new folder without overwriting old folder?
    You had to overwrite it. In this case copy your translation files from the old theme folder to a new one.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hi,

    thanks I’ll try that.

    Do you know why the slider and the books at the frontpage vanished after the upgrade?

    That’s the more important issue.

    Best regards

    Hi,

    @Language files
    I copied all files from the pre-update legenda/languages folder into the new one.

    Some things are translated now (“cart” -> “warenkorb”) some are not “qty.”, “items for”, “total”, etc. are missing. Is there any other folder that needs to be copied?

    @Front page
    I didn’t touch the front page after the update. It’s quite weird, imho. There should be a slider and several books. They are just missing. This is quite important since the site is online and it looks broken.

    @Black
    border
    This border ( http://imgur.com/a/SLqUj ) wasn’t there before the update. How did he get there, how to remove him?

    Best regards

    Hello,

    You’re using deprecated Post Grid element on home page:
    http://storage4.static.itmages.com/i/16/0930/h_1475241525_6294439_43d62a3f7f.jpeg
    Remove it and re-add from a new VC version.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hello,

    To remove black border go to Theme Options > Header > Enable hidden top panel > Off.
    Again we can’t connect via FTP. Please check.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hi,

    @Post Grid
    Thanks for the hint!
    I removed the old post grid and parts of the page are rendering again.

    @FTP data
    I didn’t change anything. Maybe the server has some troubles atm. Would you try again, please?

    @Translations
    Do you know why parts of the translation don’t work (see previous post). Do I need to copy language files apart from the one I already moved (see previous post).

    Best regards

    @Post grid, front page
    Mh. Now the images get cropped. Is there a way to normalize them so that they feature a different height but the same width.

    Hello,

    Unfortunately we can’t still connect via FTP getting these errors:
    Error: ssh_init: Name or service not known
    Error: Could not connect to server

    As for translation, try to update your translation .po file as described here http://betterwp.net/wordpress-tips/create-pot-file-using-poedit./ (the section “Updating a .po (and .mo) file”).

    Set correct sizes for images in Woocommerce > Settings > Products > Display (disable Hard Crop option) and regenerate thumbnails.

    Eva Kemp.

    Hi,

    @translation
    all terms were translated before and worked just fine. Why translating them again?

    I copied all files from the pre-update legenda/languages folder into the new one.

    Some things are translated now (“cart” -> “warenkorb”) some are not “qty.”, “items for”, “total”, etc. are missing. Is there any other folder / are there any other language files that need to be copied / got overwritten during the update?

    I guess so because if not the translations would still be ok like they were before the update.

    @post grid
    the woocommerce section is ok. It is just the (new) post grid on the font page that crops the images (see linked screenshot [1]). How to configure that (new) post grid view to act just like the old one?

    @ftp
    I just copy/pasted all information from the private section to add a new session. The one (SFTP) that I put in this private section works fine. Make sure to use SFTP and the port I mentioned. It’s a non-standard one.

    Thanks again!

    Best regards

    Hello,

    I’ve updated your translation files and now “Qty” is translated. Clear browser cache and check.
    Pleas try to set image sizes in Woocommerce > Settings > Products > Display (disable Hard Crop option) and check images after that.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hi Eva,

    @Translation
    thanks a lot!

    http://imgur.com/a/FAPDd
    Now there is a space missing

    “Produkte” should be “Bücher für”
    “qty.” should be “Anzahl:”
    “TOTAL:” should be “Summe:”

    … but I did all this and it worked great before the update. Where are the old settings? Why doing the work twice?

    In case you just need to move more files, there is a copy of the pre-update folder of legenda in the wp-themes directory called “legenda_”.

    Please note that this shop is online and it isn’t that great to have quite easily spottable language glitches on a productive site.

    Thanks again for you efforts!

    Best regards

    The front site looked like this before the update. The new grid element of VC looks quite different. What (VC) element do I need to use to reproduce exactly the old look [1].

    Hello,

    I’ve edited your translation file and changed the strings you mentioned. Clear browser cache and check the site.

    Use this css code for post grid images:

    .vc_gitem-zone {
       background-size: contain !important;
    }

    Eva Kemp.

    Hi,

    thanks again!

    I refreshed/cleared the caches. Now the site looks like this on my end [1]

    Also there seems to be a font-awesome file missing thus causing a quite massive page load delay. Do you know what’s going on there [2]

    Hello,

    I’ve added that code and here is what I see:
    http://storage9.static.itmages.com/i/16/1003/h_1475486766_1807632_4b5af8541d.jpeg

    Have you changed font awesome icon anywhere on your site?

    Hi,

    mh. I removed w3 total cache. It seems the caching directory had the wrong rights granted after updating the plugin but I deactivated it for now to be sure. The site loads a bit faster now.

    @Front page layout
    Thanks. As I said… before the update it looked like this [1]. All I need is the same look as before. Atm it doesn’t look the same and apart from that … somewhat broken. Please instruct how to get the same look as before [1].

    @Font awesome icon
    No, I just updated the site.

    Thanks again!

    Hello,

    Do you mean you want to hide “Read more” button? It can’t be the same because VC plugin authors updated VC elements and changed some design.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

    @Front page design
    everything. The thin outline, the buttons.

    I was forced to update Legenda to get the WooCommerce security issue solved. Noone pointed out that this will have major impact on the design of the front page. How should I know?

    Anyway I will find a way around this.

    @Font Awesome
    Do you have any hints regarding the font awesome thing?

    @Translation
    Eva, would you please change this http://imgur.com/a/0IOa8 to “Bücher für”. Thanks!

    @Slider
    The slider lost all it’s links that should point at the products. Why?

    @Search
    That seems to be broken too. Please try searching for “entsorge”. That word is part of a product title and should pop up. Same with portfolio items… try searching for “senser”… no result.

    What’s wrong here?

    Thanks again!

    Best regards

    Hello,

    Please try this css code:

    .home .products-grid .product .product-name {
        position: absolute;
        top: -50px;
    }
    .home .product-loop {
        margin-top: 50px;
    }
    .home .products-grid .product .product-excerpt {
        display: block;
    }

    thanks for the update. I was able to customize it to an acceptable level.

    There are still some open points, though:

    Hello,

    – As I see translation is already set http://storage3.static.itmages.com/i/16/1005/h_1475668265_9046541_62b17c4b22.jpeg

    – Please read how to link a layer in revolution slider https://www.themepunch.com/faq/how-to-hyperlink-slides-and-layers/

    – As for search issue go to Theme Options > Search and enable the options you need.

    – I’ve uploaded fontawesome.css file to your child theme. Please check the site now.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.
