I keep updating the image for the size guide within a variable product I am creating, but it doesn’t appear anywhere and when I go back into the product it isn’t there and I have to re-upload.

Where should it appear, how do I make it visible for the variable product I am working on?

    Many thanks,

    Jamie

OK, another issue that seems to be related.

If I add anything in the “Short Description” field and update, that also disappears and doesn’t save what I’ve put in there.

Same as the size guide image, I upload it, set it, then hit “Update” and when I go to the product on the front end, or back end, it’s gone again.

Something’s not saving the changes I’ve made in those 2 areas.

Please update on this ASAP as the site needs to be finished by Friday.

    Many thanks,

    Jamie

Another update – I have just added the size chart in exactly the same way to a sample product that came with the theme (product ID 14800) – it works fine. So it’s something either to do with the way I have set up this new product, or the fact it’s a variable product.

Also I would like to add an icon next to the “SIZE GUIDE” link and make it normal case “Size Guide” so it matches the “Add to Wishlist” and “Email to a Friend” links further down.

Really need both the short description and size guide to work with variables.

    Many thanks,

    Jamie

    Hello,

The problem may be caused by old plugins versions you use. There may be some conflict because of them. So please update the required plugins https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ .

    Thank you.

    Eva Kemp.

As suspected (and indicated by the fact this is working on another product), updating the plugins etc has not resolved this issue. The only file I can’t update is the woocommrce cart.php which I need from you.

Please can you actually take a look at this and find out why my short description and size guide are not showing on the product I have edited.

    Many thanks,

    Jamie

Right, I have gone through this again and it definitely appears to be an issue with variable products – if you do the same (add short description, add size guide) to a single product it saves and updates on the front end. If you do this on a variable product it doesn’t save and doesn’t update.

Need this resolved ASAP as every single product I am listing is a variable product and if I can’t have a short description at the top and a sizing guide, it renders the site useless.

    Many thanks,

    Jamie

    Hello,

Short description can’t be added for variable product with default WordPress theme too.
    You can check it yourself.
You need contact Woocommerce support team to investigate this issue.

    Thank you.

OK, I will ask them to update this as it doesn’t make any sense why it would work with a single product and not a variable.

Also what about the size guide?

It seems to be more of a bug than a feature. Not very useful.

I have resolved this problem by creating a php.ini file and putting in the root of my wordpress install.

Add this line to your php.ini file:

    max_input_vars = 3000;

The default was set to 1000 and limited the amount of variations I had created.
