Social Media Sharing Buttons Not Working on Product Pages

Hello,

I hope you’re doing well.

I’ve noticed that most of the social media sharing buttons on my individual product pages are not working correctly. I’ve tested them, but they don’t seem to function as expected.

Could you please help me resolve this issue and make sure that all the social media sharing buttons work properly on the product pages?

Use an SEO plugin to add the necessary OG image and OG description for your pages, posts, and products. Try for example Yoast SEO plugin.

Please remember to clear the Facebook cache for any products or pages that have been previously shared. You can do so by using the following link: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/

Hi,

Thank you for your response.

I have checked the share button on Facebook, and it works fine. However, the issue I am facing is with the share buttons on other social media, which are not working. I have tried it on multiple products, but it still doesn’t work.

To help clarify the issue, I have attached some screenshots in the private content area that illustrate the issue I am facing.

The widget in question has been built using Elementor, and upon investigation, we found that similar issues have been reported on their GitHub repository. You can review the relevant discussion here: https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues/9920#issuecomment-1441151087.

Based on the responses in that thread, one potential cause could be the unique HTML structure of the product’s short description. Upon inspecting the short description of your product, we noticed that the entire description is wrapped in an ‘h4’ tag, and there is also a ‘strong’ tag present in the content. We recommend creating a simple product with a basic description that does not follow the current structure used in your other products. Afterward, please test the share buttons on this product. If the issue is resolved, it would indicate that the HTML structure in your product descriptions is causing the problem, and you may need to adjust the descriptions accordingly to avoid such HTML tags.

If the issue persists, kindly provide us with the correct wp-admin access so we can further investigate, as the current access details appear to be incorrect.

Thank you for your detailed response. I have followed your recommendation and created a simple product with a basic description, avoiding HTML tags like h4 and strong. However, the issue with the social media sharing buttons persists for platforms other than Facebook.

We kindly ask you to review the following screenshot: https://prnt.sc/Dd8Ea3lTLd_l. It appears that the product description contains an excessive amount of HTML code and custom html attributes. We believe this may have occurred due to content being copied from another website with a different theme in use.

If your goal is to achieve a bordered design, unique typography, or specific colors for the short description, you can easily accomplish this by adjusting the style options of the Short Description widget in the Elementor editor. Please refer to this guide for assistance: https://prnt.sc/IE1eC5SH36If. The content of the description should ideally remain as plain text, as shown here: https://prnt.sc/hn0kUyT6JUZo.

We believe that the previous website from which the products were exported may not offer the same level of customization for product elements as our theme does.
