    Hello,

We have the [8theme] Products element on the homepage to display a list of products. I noticed that our most recent product additions that are added in the same fashion as older products (list of SKUs separated by a comma) do not show up on the homepage. I can’t figure out why!?

    Further info in private content.

    Thanks,

    Simon

    Hello,

You use latest woocommerce plugin version but version of classico theme is out of date (1.7.1, the latest one – 2.1) https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/classico/#theme_installation_and_upgrade
Don’t forget to create backup of your files and database before starting update process!

    Hello,

Thanks for that – yes I am aware of this but last time I tried updating the theme, the whole site broke. If this is causing the issues, the I guess I will have to try again.

    Best regards,

    Simon

What happens on the test site is when I overwrite the parent classico folder, it returns an HTTP ERROR 500 message and am unable to login to Wp-admin…

You need to enable WP debug mode to find out what error appears on your site, it will point you in the right direction what you need to fix.

    Hello,

Can you tell me in what folder can we find your site? Because if we go into the wp-content folder from root directory we don’t see default theme that we have installed http://prntscr.com/iq7b5r
It means that it’s not the correct path and we can’t update theme.

    Hello,

I’m not too sure what you mean – the FTP details I have provided give you access to the demo version of the website. I hadn’t noticed that before and demo site worked fine – will that still require the storefront theme?

    Sorry for stupid question!

PS. Have copied the storefront from live sit to demo site directory but still can’t access wp login

From the root directory, it’s http docs. But I want to get it upgraded on the demo site first as making changes on the live site might have some issue…the demo site is located under ‘newdemo’

    Hello,

That was the reason of the problem that you provided FTP to test WP installation and dashboard access to the production site.

We need Dashboard access to the site where theme should be updated. Credentials from the production site do not work for the /newdemo/. Please, provide me admin panel access to the site where you want to update theme now.

    Hello,

We have updated theme. Fattal error was caused by wp-content/themes/classico-child/framework/theme-functions.php
I don’t know why you moved that file into child theme because if you want to change the function from that file you just need to copy the function into child theme functions.php file and don’t need to copy whole theme-functions.php file.

    Hi there,

Thank you for sorting that. I didn’t set up the child theme on this website so I’m not sure what was done. So what is the best way to update the theme on our live site? Are there some steps I can follow as the help guide I was sent before about upgrading the theme doesn’t tell you what to do with relatio to child and parent themes and how best to update them.

    Thanks,

    Simon

Also, just discovered that on the testing site, I am unable to add an element to a single product with WP Bakery. Can you take a look and let me know what the bug is? As will need to fix this before updating the theme on the live site. Thanks!

    Hello,

    1) Default child theme does not have files that your child theme includes. You need to contact site developer to find out.

    2) http://prntscr.com/ir2vup Don’t see problems with product.

    Hi there,

    1. Sorry I don’t understand what you mean.

    2. There is no problem viewing the product, but if you try to add an element to the page, none of the elements can be clicked. ie. you can click them but nothing happens.

Regarding point 1: You mean there are edits in our child theme – yes there will be some customisation – can we not just update the parent so it doesn’t affect the child?

    Hello,

    1) Child theme includes only functions.php and style.css file at start. When you begin to customize your site you copy new files into the child theme and change them. When you update parent theme sometimes you may need to update child theme files according to changes in parent theme because you override parent theme files and old child theme files sometimes make the problems for the parent theme. If you need more information about child themes you can read WP documentation.
    2) Don’t understand your problem https://gyazo.com/236a7ff8df6ff741418e149e1717e51f
