    Hi,

I have a working website with many Brands. Is there a programmatic way to convert my brands (which are simple attributes) to the Brands taxonomy of Xstore ? I don’t want to write all theses brands once again And my permalinks are also connected to theses brands attributes so I don’t want to loose them for SEO. Which way is the best to do that ?

    Regards

    Hello Aldric Vasseur,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. We understand your concern about efficiently converting your existing brand attributes to the Brands taxonomy in XStore without having to recreate them manually and while preserving your SEO efforts linked to the current permalinks.
There is no such option by default.
To achieve this, you can utilize a custom script that programmatically migrates your brand attributes to the new taxonomy. This process typically involves fetching all existing brand attributes and then creating corresponding terms in the Brands taxonomy. It is crucial to ensure that the permalinks are appropriately redirected to maintain SEO integrity.
We recommend consulting with a developer who is proficient in WordPress and WooCommerce to assist with this migration, as it involves complex operations that could potentially affect your site’s data integrity and SEO performance. Alternatively, if you prefer, our customization team can be contacted via – https://www.8theme.com/account/#etheme_customization_panel Please be advised that customization services will incur additional charges, the exact amount of which will be communicated following a detailed review of your request.

    Best Regards,
    8Theme’s Team
