hello everyone, i have looked at the instructions and wanted to do it quickly without help…

    but i have a big problem…
this php file: “xstore-child/woocommerce/product-quick-view.php ” needs an update.

However, this file only exists in my child theme.
The file does not exist in the normal Xstore folder.

It’s about the product quick view, you made changes for me a long time ago and maybe that’s why you created a PHP file for it.

In any case, this needs to be updated… but I can’t find it in the normal Xstore folder, as described in your instructions.

see screenshot… i need help, that’s why i have renewed the support.

    greetings Oliver

    Dear @Oliver Theiß,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you that the file you are searching for is indeed available in the XStore parent theme folder. You can access it via the following link: https://prnt.sc/_i7xb55AmpfZ.

To facilitate the compatibility of your child-theme files, I kindly suggest following the instructions outlined in our documentation, which can be found here: https://xstore.helpscoutdocs.com/article/217-template-overrides-parser-feature.

Each file should be located using a unique path in the parent theme. We have provided a few examples in our documentation to help our customers understand the procedure. We would greatly appreciate your feedback once you have attempted to implement the compatibility.

Should you require further assistance or if there are specific details you believe we should include to enhance our documentation, please do not hesitate to provide us with detailed feedback. Our goal is to continuously improve our support materials to make the compatibility process as clear and straightforward as possible for our clients.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your response.

    Best Regards,

    Hallo Jack,
thank you very much! I will try it . 🙂

i think i will have to ask again at this point : “3”

    3. Merge the content from xstore/woocommerce/review-order.php into xstore-child/woocommerce/review-order.php, incorporating any modifications identified in the comparison from step 2 (typically, these involve additions or changes to HTML code).

i don’t know the tool and my technical english is not that perfect. That’s always difficult ….

i think i’ll get back to you if i don’t understand how to customise the file… aww

    Dear @Oliver Theiß,

We hope this message finds you well. As outlined in our documentation, we recommend using a specific tool for comparing two files, which can be accessed via the following link: https://www.diffchecker.com/.

We encourage you to explore this tool independently; however, please rest assured that our team is available to assist you with any questions you may have. This tool was developed to reduce inquiries related to modifications made by our clients in their child themes and to prevent potential fatal errors resulting from such changes. Understanding and utilizing this new feature effectively may require some time, especially in ensuring compatibility when discrepancies are found in child themes.

Please be aware that the parent theme file may now include several new code segments that are absent in your child theme variant. The purpose of this tool is to seamlessly integrate all necessary features and codes into your copied file while preserving the modifications made to the child theme.

Upon a preliminary review of the file in your child theme, we noticed an addition in the product-quick-view.php file, visible here: https://prnt.sc/J7I8XG89Vydb. If this is correct and no other changes were made, you may simply copy the file from the XStore parent theme and insert the code snippet at the appropriate location of your child theme.

After making these modifications, please clear the cache in Templates Overrides, which can be done here: https://prnt.sc/a82IFaWFHU4b. Subsequently, verify the functionality of your quick view on the frontend (because the file we are modifing in your child-theme works for the quick view functionality on frontend). We also recommend keeping the original file as a backup, so that if any issues arise post-modification, you can revert to it, and we will assist you in rectifying the process.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to supporting you in this process.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson
