I’m using the WooCommerce EU VAT Number plugin to enter the VAT number of the customers and everything goes well in the data entry.
I can’t get the VAT number to appear on the invoices with the PDF Invoice plugin. I tried to add the {{_vat_number}} tag in the Woocommerce – PDF Invoice – Sellers&Buyers – Buyer Block – Buyer details layout tab, but it just shows a blank field.
can you help me
Hello @Eduard,
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The “WooCommerce EU VAT Number plugin” is a third-party plugin and is not included in the list of compatible plugins that we have confirmed. This is an issue with a conflict between third-party plugins and requires extra customization to resolve.
We cannot guarantee full theme compatibility with all existing third-party plugins. In some cases, additional customization may be necessary to ensure that the theme and plugin work together. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to make the theme compatible with all existing plugins and additional customization is outside the scope of our basic support.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best Regards,

Ok, What plugin should I use to make it compatible with the theme?
Hello Eduard,
We would like to inquire if you have tested the plugins with the default WordPress Theme or with StoreFront Theme. Could you please provide us with the behavior of the plugins with those themes? If the issue persists, we suggest that you reach out to WooCommerce support for further assistance.
Regards,
8Theme’s Team
Hello, Eduard,
We asked you to check the situation with a default theme, because mentioned by you plugins are official plugins of WooCommerce https://woocommerce.com/it-it/products/eu-vat-number/ https://woocommerce.com/it-it/products/pdf-invoices/ which behavior is independent of our theme. Because plugins are paid the WooCommerce will be able to assist you.
We can see you have set 1-star rating for our theme, but it is unfairly harming our business. We strive to provide excellent service to our customers, and we believe that this negative rating is not a reflection of our company’s efforts.
If you you do not want to use our theme you can submit a refund request here – https://themeforest.net/refund_requests/new or please change the rating.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards,
8theme team
I have used the plugin that is included in Xstore to create invoices. I have bought an official third party Woocommerce plugin because Xstore does not include the way to enter the Vat number of the customers.
You tell me that it is not tested with Xstore and that I should talk to another technical support. I ask you which plugin is compatible with Xstore and your answer is to disable the theme if it works.
What the technical support has to do is tell me which plugin is compatible with Xstore to enter the vat number in the invoices.
I don’t know why you are surprised about my assessment.
Rest assured that soon I will stop using Xstore and I will not bother you anymore. The first support ticket I created and the last one, for sure.
Thank you.
Hello, Eduard,
We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the response you received from our support team.
The feature of a VAT number is not built into our theme, so the use of additional plugins is justified.
Usually, users find such plugins and do not encounter problems caused by our theme, as XStore does not affect VAT functionality. If a problem arises, it is usually something independent of our theme.
There was a misunderstanding. We thought you talking about this invoice plugin – https://woocommerce.com/it-it/products/pdf-invoices/
We would like to resolve this situation in the best way possible, so we offered you a refund. Our rating is very important to us, so we would like to solve this situation in the best way.
We inspected the plugin that is included in our XStore theme named -> WooCommerce PDF Invoice and here is its documentation -> https://support.rightpress.net/hc/en-us/categories/200072368 .
We want to ask you where did you get the {{_vat_number}} shortcode ? Because there is no such information about this shortcode neither in plugin’s documentation nor in plugin’s code -> https://prnt.sc/gKKYgnrYPbBB .
We are able to try to find a solution for you to output the VAT information in your PDF templates but for this, we need you to provide us with wp-admin + ftp access to your web-site. Also, please, give us information/screenshots/video of how can we check the PDF templates after our changes ?
I hope we are still able to help you because in the details we describe above we fully answered that {{_vat_number}} shortcode was not able to work by default. Note: Each shortcode (tag) such as the one you describe {{_vat_number}} should be implemented in code for making the depended content shown when calling such tag. It is not possible to imagine the tag you want and it will able to work just as you thought. By writing each shortcode there should be content refered to this tag -> https://prnt.sc/9tHULlxGb8Ax (example).
Otherwise if you prefer to use another PDF invoice plugin you may try to install the next plugin which is selling on WooCommerce official web-site -> https://woocommerce.com/products/pdf-invoices/ with many filters and hooks usage examples shown in their documentation -> https://woocommerce.com/document/pdf-invoice-developer-tools/. In that case, it could be also not compatible with the WooCommerce EU VAT Number plugin but fixing this incompatibility will be in the hands of WooCommerce PDF Invoices plugin’s developers.
Waiting for your reply.
Kind Regards,
8theme team
