I’m trying to update my theme xStore from the WordPress dashboard but it’s not updating so I’m unable to update the core plugin to add/use some other plugins that require an updated core plugin. To update the theme I was asked to update the WordPress version to the latest one and I did but the theme isn’t updating from the WordPress Dashboard. I tried deactivating all the plugins also.
It showing “Update failed: 503 Service Unavailable @media (prefers-color-scheme:dark){body{background-color:#000!important}} 503 Service Unavailable The server is temporarily busy, try again later!”
Hello, Sami Faisal,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue you are experiencing with updating the xStore theme via your WordPress dashboard. We understand how important it is to keep your site up-to-date and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The error message you are seeing, “503 Service Unavailable,” typically indicates that the server is temporarily unable to handle the request due to maintenance or overloading. This can sometimes occur during peak times or when the server is undergoing maintenance.
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. **Wait and Retry**: Since this might be a temporary server issue, please wait a few minutes and then attempt to update the theme again.
2. **Server Resources**: Check with your hosting provider to ensure that your server is not experiencing issues and that it has adequate resources available. Sometimes, increasing the server’s resource limits (such as PHP memory limit) can help.
3. **Manual Update**: If the issue persists, consider manually updating the theme.

1. Try several times from yesterday but the result is the same and it’s not updating.
2. I talked to the hosting provider and confirmed that there are no issues with the server.
3. If I add the theme and plugin manually, will I lose any data or customization I made so far?
Do I need to download the file named “XStore – Installable Archive”?
Hello, Sami Faisal,
We would like to assure you that you will not lose any data. However, we strongly recommend creating a backup before proceeding with any updates for added security.
Yes, please download “XStore – Installable Archive”

Thanks for the info. I got this pop-up text “XStore Core plugin requires the following theme: XStore to be updated up to 9.3.6 version.”
So which one I should add first? Add the ‘theme’ from the archive first or the ‘core plugin’ first?
Hello, Sami Faisal,
We hope this message finds you well. We kindly request that you update the theme initially, followed by the Core plugin. This sequence is crucial for optimal performance and compatibility.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Thanks. Do I need to upload the downloaded zip file? Or, I need to upload any specific file after extraction?
Hello, Sami Faisal,
You need to upload the downloaded zip file.
